As a republican, I am not pleased with my party at all. They are no longer fighting for limited government involvement in our lives or a reasonable and sustainable budget, instead they have adopted the far right views of tell us what to believe and how to live. It is wrong. I don't agree with many Democratic approaches to solving our nation's problems, but I can't get behind my party right now. They don't represent my views or beliefs. I think many mainstream republicans simply want less spending, more accountability among the public, greater acknowledgement of wrongdoing and consequences, and a return to the basic principle of protect the union of states from enemies, but let the states decide the majority of the laws/rules to adhere to. I am not a fan of abortion, but I also don't believe that the Government has any business telling my wife, daughter, sister, or friend when to have a child. If they want to ban abortion, then force the father to pay, be castrated or go to prison. It's ridiculous that a woman should bare the burden of consensual sex. If you are so pure as to demand the life you created be born, then you raise the child. You take responsibility. On the debt ceiling, I agree with Republicans. We should fight for a balanced budget, but problem is that they only want to cut spending on democratic priorities. BS. Cut government spending period. Reduce the waste and focus on the priorities.
