"...republicans don't care about the state of the union." You surely can't believe that's true of all Republicans? The most I'm willing to grant is that a majority are gutless. That they care more about getting re-elected than their constituents' needs.

If you want to think that I meant that to mean "every last living Republican on Earth", Mame, do so. I think doing that would be as much an exaggeration as you apparently think my comment to be.

I haven't voted for a Republican after Reagan. I did vote for his first term. I vowed years ago to never vote for any Republicans as long as I live. However, I am pretty sketchy about voting for Democrats too these days.
