How The North Carolina GOP Has Undermined Cleanup Of ‘Forever Chemicals’
Republican lawmakers slashed funding for agencies that should be testing water for PFAS, studying health impacts, removing contamination and suing polluters.

@snood,
True enough. Record of early voting s occurring, thankfully. Democracy is prospering. I’m pretty sure the majority of those happen to be (big D) Democrats. Can’t be too soon for the final vote count. And then, may the trials and lawsuits begin. NY State’s lawsuit for his chronic tax evasion will go forward regardless of his status as a former POTUS.

@Ragman,
If we outlaw the Democratic Party that will put an end to their abuse of the law to persecute people who don't agree with them.

@oralloy,
Wouldn't outlawing a political party be a violation of the first amendment? Otherwise, the government would have banned the American Nazi Party and the Communist Party years ago. (One would think the government would have tried to ban the Communist Party during the Cold War)

Also, even if the Democratic Party is outlawed, another liberal leaning party would take its place, and the cycle begins anew.

Yeah. Outlawing the Democratic Party. That’ll happen.

Can you prove that lawsuit will go forward? I bet you can't. We have a ex- president out there that is above the law, why not Trump?

Not necessarily.

If the reason why they are outlawed is because of their gross abuse of power to harm innocent Americans, I think it will pass muster with the courts.

But even if I'm wrong about that and the courts do strike it down, it's certainly worth a try.

Hopefully this new party will not be so eager to commit atrocities against innocent Americans.

Removing progressives from society and placing them in labor camps for reeducation is another possibility. China does this with some of their dissidents.

All it takes is a vote in the House and Senate, then the President's signature.

POLITICAL CIRCUS: Senator Hirono Asks Judge Barrett if She’s Ever ‘Committed Sexual Assault’

This Democrat is a special kind of stupid.
Quote:
Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono surprised millions of viewers this week when she asked Judge Amy Coney Barrett whether she had ever “committed assault of a sexual nature” during her confirmation hearings.

“Have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors… or committed assault of a sexual nature?” asked Sen. Hirono.

“Have you ever entered into a settlement for this kind of behavior?” she added.

“No, I have not,” fired-back Barrett.

Wow, another Republican tells the truth:

https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/15/politics/ben-sasse-trump-criticism/index.html

GOP senator unloads on Trump in constituent call, saying 'he mocks evangelicals' and has 'flirted with White supremacists

Washington (CNN) Republican Sen. Ben Sasse criticized President Donald Trump earlier this week during a phone call with constituents, saying a number of unflattering things about the President, including that he's "flirted with White supremacists" and "kisses dictators' butts," his office confirmed to CNN.

"The way he kisses dictators' butts. I mean, the way he ignores that the Uyghurs are in literal concentration camps in Xinjiang right now. He hasn't lifted a finger on behalf of the Hong Kongers," Sasse said in response to a constituent's question about his relationship with Trump and his past criticisms of the President.

"The United States now regularly sells out our allies under his leadership. The way he treats women and spends like a drunken sailor. The ways I criticized President (Barack) Obama for that kind of spending I've criticized President Trump for as well. He mocks evangelicals behind closed doors. His family has treated the presidency like a business opportunity. He's flirted with White supremacists," the Nebraska Republican said.
................................

Complaining about Trump's "stupid political obsessions," Sasse stressed during the call the possibility that the President's political brand could alienate women and young voters in the future.

"If young people become permanent Democrats because they've just been repulsed by the obsessive nature of our politics, or if women who were willing to still vote with the Republican Party in 2016 decide that they need to turn away from this party permanently in the future, the debate is not going to be, you know, 'Ben Sasse, why were you so mean to Donald Trump?' " he said. "It's going to be 'What the heck were any of us thinking that selling a TV-obsessed narcissistic individual to the American people was a good idea?' It is not a good idea."

The senator also criticized Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic, saying he doesn't think the President's leadership during the crisis has been "reasonable or responsible."

"The reality is that he careened from curb to curb. First, he ignored Covid. And then he went into full economic shutdown mode. He was the one who said 10 to 14 days of shutdown would fix this, and that was always wrong," he said. "So I don't think the way he's led through Covid has been reasonable or responsible or right."

Old news, Sasse has never liked Trump. These allegations are not new. They did not effect Trump the first time and will not this time.

You ever going to answer why ACB is shameful and what she lied about? I didn't think so.

What a wildly improbable conspiracy theory.

What's wildly improbable is the notion that Mickey Mouse from Leningrad and Donald Duck from Moscow are really huge supporters of gay rights in Michigan.

I bet at least 90% of these "internet signatures" are going to come from a Russian IP address.

I thought the gay rights people had given up, but they just showered Michigan with a ton of illegal internet signatures from Russia. They missed the deadline for the 2020 election though.

https://www.mlive.com/public-interest/2020/10/lgbt-anti-discrimination-campaign-turns-in-nearly-500000-signatures-for-2022-ballot-proposal.html

Presumably there will be lawsuits to put a stop to it. Michigan doesn't need the KGB imposing gay rights legislation on us.
