i was looking at the elphant ears in the yard... the could be made into a nice suit...
Table leaves could make a sandwich board.
Hm, I thought rhubarb leaves are kind of short
I was working today too - so I had to change from comfort
to business: beige/black/teal striped slacks with a beige
camisole and a teal cardigan.
But in a few seconds, it's back to blue addidas sweatpants
and a white t-shirt.
Wearing my chocolate cotton velvet jeans for the first time this season -- it's not summer anymore, Toto. Pale pink t-shirt under brown + pinks + greens + blues floral cotton button-down (same print as ehBeth's slipper-shoes.) Black cotton hoodie, black boots.
My boots are goners, almost 4 years old, soles are lopsided, gotta get replacements. I have some Nine West boots on hold at Famous Footwear, very similar to the ones I posted earlier. Black, square toe, cool curvy heel but not too high. (~2") They were 99.99 ("everyday low price" or whatever), now $69.99. That's still more than I'm comfortable plonking down, they're on hold for 2 more days. Really purty. Seem well made. (I've had the best luck with Nine West, Kenneth Cole Reaction, and Enzo Angolini -- which I think is owned by Nine West.)
What say you, peanut gallery?
You probably won't find boots you like (and that are well-made) for less than that price, right? So buy them.
I think this thread qualifies as a Featured Topic! It's a timeless classic! And a good icebreaker for new members.
George - ooops? Ouch?
Sozobe, I did a copy and paste before you removed the addy and I think they're great. Especially good for the car and such, though I wouldn't want to slog through snow in them. The price seems good, even in american dollars.
Black boots with a high gloss shine, a mix of black, green, and brown spread about my pants and top, and a brown t-shirt. I almost forgot my black beret!
I'm all dressed now. It's rodeo week in town, the CFR (Canadian Finals Rodeo) is on and it's be seen in jeans week. So I'm wearing some levis and a denim shirt with a wee bit of cleavage and my CFM red cowboy boots. Yeehaw!
Joeblow, thanks for the feedback! I thought it would show up as an image -- had img brackets, had jpeg at the end -- and was confused about why it wasn't and meanwhile it was stretching the screen, so I removed it.
Yeah, the slogging through snow thing. Do I really want impractical boots? Ponder ponder. These have thinner/ less practical heels than in the original boots I lusted after.
(What can I say, pondering boots is a heckuva a lot more pleasant than various political things that have been taking up vast swaths of my brain lately...)
Red cowboy boots! Yeehaw!
You know, this thread is dangerous. If I post here all the time, I start feeling like I have boring clothing - always wearing the same things over and over again. So then I go out and buy new clothes.
Today I wear the same (the newness of them has already worn thin) pale green cords, same old light blue vneck 3/4 sleeve t, and a periwinkle sweatshirt I've had for years. Sigh.
I did buy a new winter jacket! It's 3/4 length, cocoa brown, pea coat. And it was cheap!
Good winter boots are worth spending 'real' money on.
Take care of them, and they'll last for yonks.
psssssst, soz, go check out Meijers sometime. I've found some really, neat, good quality, leather knock-offs there. I'm wearing some right now. Red, leather, backless Mary Janes that I got for about $6. Meijer's isn't always good, but when it is ...
Get the good boots, and put a bitta $$ aside for some slogging through slush and snow boots.
ack, I can't edit here again.
oh well. i'll leave things alone
I figured that since I found a fiddy dollar winter coat, I get to spend upwards of a hundred for winter booties.... like these (getz has great prices!):
oh, those look good, l'k!
And merrells are sooooo comfy!
Almost time to dig out my LL Bean "Maine hunting shoes". Despite the name, they are actually boots. This time of year I apply a beeswax-based preparation to the leater uppers. Keeps them supple and water resistant. I've had these things for ages. They are outrageously warm and comfy.
i see myself heading back to sierratradingpost.com
now i really want some pull-on winter hikers
loden green heavy-weight velour pant and tunic set
burgundy platform loafers
lonnnnnnnnnng burgundy sweater coat
it's a good day for a toasty outfit
Those Merrell boots look really cozy.
I see George finally got dressed. That sling didn't leave much to the imagination...... or did it?
In the nicer climate states, we can skip the wool sweaters
I'm wearing a long grey skirt, a white shirt and a Jeans jacket
