Thanks for the tip, ehBeth, I did. A lot of huh not bads, nothing that grabbed me as an absolute must-buy. Will keep checking in tho.
I'm now lusting after some new Reaction boots I found when I was looking up the picture I posted above, similar but even cooler. $100. Sigh. (At that level of craftsmanship + coolness, not a bad price, but well beyond my comfort level right now.)

George is probably wearing a big smile this morning, unless he bet on the Yankees.

George bet with his heart (for once) and will be amply rewarded. Be drinking the good stuff tonight!
Otherwise, I look like forty miles of bad road this AM.

That smile makes up for anything though.
(Been there with Twins X 2 and Packers... SO fun...)

I should wear my Red Wings jersey today. It's long enough to wear as a dress.

Several thoughts on that, all of which would land me in the penalty box.

Well, it's a little too cold for bare legs. Textured tights maybe. Legwarmers?
It's not even the cold--- it's the lack of sunshine.
I know all kinds of hockey slang, by the way.

Cinn - my dog does too. Actually, my sister's dog does as well. I don't know how they know the difference between a UPS truck and a FedEx truck, but they do seem to.
I'm wearing pale green cords, a lavender 3/4 vneck t and a periwinkle sweat jacket. Oh, and a wool scarf around my neck.

Our dog barks even at parking attendants - it must be
the uniform in general.
I'm wearing an apricot/brown tweed suit and it seems
like, the skirts are getting shorter again - my knees are
exposed. Oh well, off to a meeting.

Black pants with tiny white pin stripes.
Black top with white/silvery swirls and flared sleeves.
Black belt with a tiny white/silver ruffle at the edge.
Black and silver dingle-dangle earrings.
Black backless high heels.
Black polar fleece poncho.
Is there a theme?

Is it one big piece or is it sewn at the shoulders?

It was one giant piece of fabric. Slit up the middle for the front. Fringes cut into the bottom edges. Side and front edges serged. That's it, that's all. Just make sure to get the 'good' polar fleece.

Slip up the middle... like it's open at the front? (Having a hard time visualizing, sorry.)
(And I'm so doing this. :-D)

Open up the front - great opportunity to pull those giant vintage pins out!

Ah, OK.. Good opportunity for ribbon closures, too.
So lemme see if I've got it:
Start with a big square of fabric. (GOOD polar fleece.) Starting at one point, cut towards the middle. Cut out a hole in the middle big enough for neck.
Do stuff to the edges if you want.
Poncho.

(Or is the cut in the middle of one straight side? Most of the ponchos I've seen have a point coming down in the front, higher towards the arms.)

Sorry - had to run.
Think a shawl crossed with a poncho. I've got one which is rectangular - more true shawl-like. The other started as a square - cut from one corner to middle - like a poncho-shaped shawl - that's today's thingie. The rectangular one would be easier to make. No hole - just a straight cut.
