craven -- Remember the cartoon which featured two women in 50s style shirt waists and hair dos, standing on a stair with a man's face in the foreground? One woman tells the other, Careful, he's anti-choice . . . or something similiar? Always hated the hypocrisy of the right.

Based on my own experience and my brother's experience with a short lived time in the Baptist church and the stories a former room mate told me and the warnings to never go to a YR meeting. . . and more. It was sort of common girl talk during the 60s and I have to admit that I love reminding people about it.

But the lefty lads weren't randy, drooling and trying to unhook bras?

I dunno about the 60's, but in the 70's the lefty boys were bein' all respectful, asking if they could kiss a woman. Forget about being randy and trying to unhook bras without persmission. The righty boys didn't ask anything, except for directions home the next day.

Not MY lefty boys!

But they CERTAINLY never drooled.

And unhooking bras permission was always at least implicit.

Mind you, I wore a cunning front-fastening one to confuse 'em....

Didja ever have one of those sleeveless tops that had a zipper under the arm? The ultimate in date foolers. I still like 'em. They can cause an absolute panic.

Nah - I found the front fastening bra cruel enough.

Actually, to be very honest, I only ever used it in such a way twice - and, though it was mean, there were VERY extenuating circumstances. VERY.

Normally, I would assist rapidly, and invisibly, if the faintest trace of confusion showed itself. One does NOT wish to humiliate folk in such a situation - and, since that bra was for the very low neckline outfits, one's beloved tended to be quite enthusiastic on the occasions when the bra was needed.....but, this is WAY TMI!

POOF! AU is a conservative. It's magic. He's been a stout supporter of our troops in Iraq after, and only after, they were committed to action.

Yeah, but troops in Iraq ain't a measure of conservatism.

He's non-partisan alright, but ya gotta admit he has a conservative streak, (e.g. Israel, fiscal conservatism, immigration, minorities....).
