Bush is back on TV with the "the economic stimulus (singular) will begin to work and create jobs." I just picture him with Tinkerbell's wand commanding the generals of industry to start creating jobs so he won't be booted out after one term.

As far as the candidates, the presentation the other night just re-fortified my confidence in Dean. Kerry also looked and sounded more Presidential but hasn't shaped his message. I think all the others are just window dressing at this point. Edwards made a gigantic foopah.

Graham is actually one of my favorites but I just don't think he'll make it.

Ah - but a Kerry/Graham ticket? That would be good. Kerry's beginning to look and sound better. I think they all got conned in the beginning into being scared of that vague center the repubs keep talking about. Of course, the repubs kept pushing Lieberman, too. But Dean opened the door. And that gathering wasn't dull. Missed Sharpton, but nothing was flying out of the area that night - thuderstorms.

Dean/Graham - or Dean/Clark but I like Kerry too. I could even handle Lieberman. I love what Braun has to say and Sharpton will add spice. Now, was the one that was a no show because he is no qualified oops, wrong race - that would be AUHold in Cali Smile

mamajuana, have you seen my mantra - I fully credit you and Gephardt with the idea:

BUSH IS A FAILURE, poor poor GOP! Laughing

Bob Graham is knowledgeable, competent, well-respected in the Senate and extraordinarily popular in Florida.

As he has nearly no television charisma, he should drop out in order to hold the seat for the Dems.

Edwards seems unable to gain any traction.

Lieberman is a joke. Carol Mosely Braun has more credibility than him.

I like Kucinich, but he is terminally liberal. No chance.

That leaves Dean, Kerry, Gephardt and possibly Wesley Clark.

I like the way those four will sprint for the crown.

I'd be surprised if two of them aren't on the ticket.

I throw out Gephardt, otherwise I agree to a tee! Oh, I still like Graham as VP - he wins Florida (and other parts of the south) in a flash!

Latest poll of registered dem voters gives 16% to Kerry, 13% to Lieberman, followed by Dean, Gephart.... This was released by the Kerry website, so who knows?

Those biased polls from one camp or another has little real meaning. Even the polls in Los Angeles favors Butsamante by a big margin. You know why? One guess.

Yeah, and the trouble with that is that someone like Carol Mosely Braun isn't taken seriously for no good reason other than that she is not pale, not a man, and not the same as what we've always had.

Here's the one for African Americans in LA County, and the one for Asians and Pacific Islanders (pretty steep rise there, too). And here's the animated map on racial majorities.

Wesley Clark looked and acted like a leader on Bill Maher's HBO show last night. He may end up being the candicate to reckon with and I doubt that it would be for the VP.

Bush is going to have trouble untangling the albatross around his neck from his pre-planned and ill-advised aggression in Iraq and once again invading a country only to leave it in the lurch, Afghanistan. Bill Cristal, The National Standard (the foundation of the conservative periodicals) said last night on Maher's show that they were publishing an article in the next issue critical of the Bush Administration's poor planning and even poorer handling of the aftermath of the war in Iraq. When your own ideological base begin drilling holes in your ship, it's likely to sink.

Hmmm, is that true? What would be the liberal counterpart to the National Standard, and did it not publish critical articles about Clinton's planning and handling of, say, the war in Kosovo?

Yes, that was a direct statement made by Cristal. He was adamant about his support for Bush on other points as Bill Maher was not being kind to Bush. Wolf Blitzer was extraordinarily patronizing last night. The show is repeated several time during the week on HBO and HBO VOD (Video on Demand).

The National Review is the liberal equivalent and I don't believe I read any negative articles re the war in Kosovo. Foreign Affairs magazine would likely be the best source to read about what the status is in a post-war Kosovo but it certainly looks like it turned out rather well. The right is not using it as a comparison to cool off criticism of what is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan. What does that tell you?

BTW, technically Kosovo was a NATO action with involvement of the UN. It was distinctly not unilateral.
