@Buttermilk,
And if that white kid is stupid enough to attack a cop he will probably be tasered or shot! Not necessarly defending the cop. Wait for all the facts.

You all do realize that bigotry = fear and fear = bigotry. And that bigots do not recognize themselves.

No need to go back that far or to even wonder, this administration is very upfront about only enforcing the laws that it agrees with, and sometimes like in the case of ObamaCare just ignoring the law and doing what ever it pleases. Anyone who thinks the feds are unbiased is either blind or stupid.

wrong. Bigotry is holding a non approved opinion about a group of people. These days I take being called a bigot as a badge of honor.

I'm not so sure it's one's educational level that makes for a bad or good cop.

Of course racism is not limited just to uneducated people; racism is institutionalized and very much a part of the American culture. People do not change their innermost sentiments because they become educated and or wealthy. Wealthy and educated people are more subtle in their expression when it comes to bigotry. Exposure to higher education might moderate a policeman's actions somewhat. A few years ago I was standing on line at the Super Market. There was a very slight space between me and the customer ahead of me when a very ignorant policeman walked up to the line and stood directly in front of me. I said to him loudly "excuse me, I am behind that lady." He said very rudely "OK". and got behind me and some others. I had never seen such a New York police officer behave so rudely before...my encounters with the police have always been friendly and courteous! It was the audacity of this cop thinking he could just walk in and stand on line in front of others that affected me and others observing because I almost caused a scene.

The point I was attempting to make, CI, is the lack of education within the police force is a crippling factor. I think a certain level of professionalism should be a prerequisite, that a police officer be able to THINK of the consequences before acting, and this might go a long way with interacting with the common people. An education within the police ranks would temper one's actions before shooting or using a broomstick up a prisoner's rear end.....remember the Abner Louima case in New York City? A white NY cop squeezed Abner Louima's testicles and then sodomized him with a broom handle. This same cop was also living with an African American woman.

.....And YOU know this how, Miller?! These people (Valerie Jarret and others within the Obama administration) are public servants and do not speak openly or publicly regarding controversial/eplosive subjects as the Michael Brown killing. How do you know they do not discuss this topic among themselves. Are you really so unsophisticated that someone has to explain this to you?!

On another note, Michelle Obama is not "100% black." There was a documentary regarding her ancestry on TV sometime in the recent past. Her ancestry came about as a result of slavery;the slave master raped her ancestors. Also, a majority of African Americans have white ancestry, which might explain the various colors you see in Eric Holder, Jarret, Susan Rice, advisor to Obama, but look at the African American population on the whole and you will see multicolors of people brought about via slavery, although in recent times there is a growing number of black/white marriages that produce people like President Barack Obama.

The fact that he beat an officer to the point of unconsciousness and tried to get his gun is prima facia evidence of a continuing danger to others.

I want to know how an unconscious Officer Wilson was able to get out of his car and pump several shots into a suspect. Perhaps you can enlighten us how cops can do things ordinary humans can't.

He wasent unconscious, but would you concede that he "might" have been stunned and not completely rational. Wait for the facts.

@RABEL222,
Yes, we should wait for the facts but there are a lot of assumptions being made about Officer Wilson that simply are not possible.

1. He was unconscious at the time. (Perhaps guijohn is just confused about the meaning of the word.)

2. Wilson was being attacked in his car at the time Brown was shot. (Which doesn't explain how Brown got 35 feet from the car when he was shot in the front and died.)

3. Brown was attempting to get Officer Wilson's gun at the same time he was punching him in the face and leaning in through a car window. (Had Brown drawn his gun just to tell someone to get out of the street or did Brown just have incredibly long arms and a very thin upper body?)

@Miller,
"Why do blacks have anger so late in the civil rights game?"

So glad that you think human beings deserving of equal rights is a game......

Why are blacks angry?

I don't know I'm no spokesperson for all African-Americans but what I can tell you from experience is the perpetual injustices that goes on in the inner cities.

You said:

"while other folks of "color", such as Asian-Americans, don't seem to have nor do they express any anger towards "whites" and the American way of life? Asian Americans have the highest medium income of all ethnic groups in the USA and the highest recorded IQ values of any ethnic American group."

This retort is so funny....I've been down this road with many of the Stormfront idiots regarding IQ its not even funny. Funny thing is Asians (as in Pakistanis, Malays, Chinese, etc) do speak out all the time! Or by Asians were you referring to people with "slanted eyes?" LOL You'd see it all the time on college campuses (I mean, YOU DO GO TO COLLEGE RIGHT??) which is why many of the different ethnic organizations collaborate with each other regarding the issues of discrimination. Some communities are less voicetrous than others but that doesn't mean their struggle is different than other people of color.

"Before you criticize so-called "white people" concerning their feelings about the "black anger" , please explain to me, the basis for this anger in the year 2014."

I don't know, maybe because stuff like this happens all the time. Recently an LAPD officer killed an unarmed black teen here in Los Angeles, and Latino man also unarmed, was killed as well. Both the Latino and Black community here in Southern California have been speaking out quite a bit here. As for myself, I'm not angry, I'm frustrated that police departments hire people who have internalized racist feelings. I speak to African-American cops as well as Latino cops all the time here at my hospital and some of them confirm that there are certain officers with a racist mindset.

For L.A county Deputies most have to work the jails before they go on the streets and so, some of their internalized racism comes from dealing with gang members in the jails. Some, are from how they grew up. Just because you don't see a swastika doesn't mean the person doesn't have some pre-conceived belief regarding people of color.

"I might also add, if you want to be "mad " at something, then be dam mad at the savages, who chopped Mr. Foley's head off because the US refused to pay them $149 million. With that in mind, why shouldn't all Irish Americans be pissed off at the murder of a fellow Irish Catholic? That's something to be real mad about.... "

Yes because one person's suffering supercedes another person's suffering...The above comment is an example why African-Americans continue to harp on the issues we continually argue about.

Agreed. However I'm starting to find the opinion of people who think Brown's height and weight is ample justification to use lethal force quite comical.

This is true. In fact, having an advanced degree and being on a different pay scale is an incentive these departments have to get these candidates to apply.
