That has been shown over and over and over. No, I'm not finding links for you.

Actually not, they start from the assumption all other things being equall what would we expect the race mix of the convicted be. I have never for instance seen a study that normalized for class. These alleged proofs of a racist justice system are so shoddy that I have to wonder if the results were determined before hand.

@Setanta,
Trying to determine the emotional state and motivations of the speaker gets to be a little iffy over the internet. Maybe you should confine yourself to evaluation of the logical arguments?

@panzade,
I'll just say, ask Richard Sherman. (Whatta mouth, good writer).

Wrong person to answer, but there you go.

@hawkeye10,
Stats re crack and cocaine are a start.

At the time my ex was writing screenplays, the people above were verifiably coke addled. None of them did time. Pretty classy, that.

@hawkeye10,
If you are unaware of PR's racial agenda, that's no skin off my nose. When it comes to "Trying to determine the emotional state and motivations of the speaker" i suggest you address yourself to people like Frank and David, who both attempt to use that as a rhetorical weapon.

As for logical arguments, if i ever see you employ one, i'll deal with that as it comes up.

@ossobuco,
That's a good point. When drug laws were overhauled in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the penalties for the use and sale of crack cocaine were much stiffer than those for powdered cocaine. Anyone who needs to have that explained to them isn't living in this world.

More to the point is the following:

Quote:
According to the US Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) non-Hispanic blacks accounted for 39.4% of the total prison and jail population in 2009 (841,000 black males and 64,800 black females out of a total of 2,096,300 males and 201,200 females). According to the 2010 census of the US Census Bureau blacks (including Hispanic blacks) comprised 13.6% of the US population.

For those whose math is not good, that means that the prison population of non-Hispanic blacks is more than three times their proportion in the population.

Quote:
The use of crack cocaine increased rapidly in the 1980s, accompanied by an increase in violence in urban areas.[2] In response, the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986 included a provision that created the disparity between federal penalties for crack cocaine and powder cocaine offenses penalizing the possession of an amount of crack 100 times smaller than the amount of cocaine that would lead to a penalty for possession of powder cocaine. The law also contained minimum sentences and other disparities between the two forms of the drug.

@Setanta,
To me this all is proof on paper for what was routine blaming going on before the crack coke thing. I'm well aware of gang crime, having lived immediately within the then V13 and Sholine Crips area, but also know they are neighborhoods and neighborhood can be intereresting.

Fear - fear can be reasonable, but also shut out understanding.
Well, you know that. Just mulling.

Let people say what they want to say. If they want to spew hatred...let them. They usually do themselves more damage than the object of their hatred.

@ossobuco,
Richard Sherman, the Stanford thug commented:"One of the best receivers in the NFL(DeSean Jackson) was released on Friday for having alleged gang ties, while the same team(Eagles) rewarded a confirmed racist(Riley Cooper)with a five year contract worth 25 million.

@ossobuco,
Just read about it now, had missed it.
I don't know the guy (what, they were tired of his act? really?) but Sherman spoke well of him not very long ago - both from Compton, if I remember.

@Setanta,

Once again, can you link us to post in which you take her to task, in her own threads, for her attitudes? That's what you have claimed should be done.

Since I've had her on ignore for years, and I stepped over her crap longer than that - no, I can't find the one or two times I actually told her what I thought about her opinion. Is that the new credential demanded by you and your pro-banning crowd? If we can't point to arguments with anyone you and your group have labelled a racist, we are also racists? Please formulate a list with your group so at least the rest of us know what is expected / demanded. I guess Buttermilk gets an honorary membership since he made a racist remark in this thread.

When Whackeye first showed up her with his "pro-rape" arguments, i constantly took him to task for his claims about the "sexual freedom" of 14 year olds and his false claims about age on consent laws. I didn't see you in there swinging, you big phony.

I've disagreed with Hawkeye a few times. I'm not a phony based on the fact that you don't see me "in there swinging." Are you actually holding me accountable for everything everyone has written here? It's bizarre that you even feel comfortable making such a comment. Are you getting your Little Emperor vibe? Who are you - McCarthy? Jesus.

Quote:
Drop the phony stance of moral superiority, because it is just that--it is phony.

I'm just as real as you are. I don't like people being singled out by groups. Period. I'm a big America lover, but I don't want JTT banned - even though I've had him ignored for a couple of years. I don't want you banned even though you're mean as **** - and I would never have supported snood's banning even though we wanted to murder each other. Because when I single someone out for ejection, I know that if someone else was in charge - or some faction with other ideas was running the show, it could be me. I feel that intensely.

Quote:
You're certainly no crusader

Thank Bob for that. Never was, never wanted to be.

Quote:
Once again, you are trying to claim some virtuous, moral high ground, for which i see no evidence

No, I'm not. I'm scratching for my own freedom.

Quote:
Get off my back, you hypocrite. It's not your opinion which disgusts me, it's this phony veneer of virtue, which you don't live up to.

I see that I do indeed meet criteria for your and your new buddy Buttermilk's definition of racist, phony, and hypocrite. 1. I had people I found irritating or objectionable on ignore. 2. You did not see where I argued with them. 3. I don't want A2K to start banning people.

I'm so sad I can't be as virtuous as all of you wonderful people. So very sad. (sits on corner wearing hypocrite phony racist cap)

Quite right. I've had her on ignore for years. I don't reply to what I don't see, and not much of what I do. I surely don't agree with everything I do see and don't bother to reply to.

Wait....people can disagree with you and you dont stand there and throw a fit??!!

Interesting idea. I wonder if it catches on. This must be that thing called tolerance that I hear so much about.

I have just not looked at her threads, because I already know
what is in there. Those perps r ugly.
