c.i.: Yep, I really should just plow through those books, but I draw it out. Been hovering around page fifty in my
Cambridge Encyclopedia of Linguistics for far too long. Now, I'd like to reread Herbert Muller's
Freedom in the Ancient World. I blame mapleleaf's question on the origin of religion for that one.
Half of these books belong to Mr. dupre and are on Texas History. I can easily forego those till I'm finished with the others.
Most of these books are so far over my head, I do have to read them several times. Even the landscaping books . . . I had to read ten of them to get the basic points down and apply the concepts to my own yard. I have a book on the history of American philosophical thought I couldn't get three paragraphs into and I can never seem to get past chapter 8 in one particular book on music theory. Maybe I'm too tired to absorb more, since I work so hard in the yard, or it's just possible I'm not the brightest brick on the block, but perseverence usually gets me there . . . or close enough.
