We went 52-14 (67%) last week. Only Edgar, who predicted the Colts as Superbowl champs, was mortally wounded.
We have 6 votes each for the Broncos and Patriots and 3 for the Seahawks and 2 for the 49er's to earn championship rings.
Next week we think, by a margin of 10-3, that Seattle will beat San Francisco. We split 7-6 in believing that Denver will prevail over New England.

On the points thing, where successful players got 1 in the Wild Card games and 2 in last weekend's matches, I have:
11 points: AndyD and Region
10 points: McGentrix and Fbaezer
9 points: Osso. George, Rhys, Ragman and Tico
8 points: Johnboy
7 points: JPB, George's Bride and ehBeth
6 points: Coastalrat, Mysteryman, Tsarstepan and Edgar.

Next week's games are worth 4 points each.

Several players owe me their guesses on the final score in the Super Bowl. I know who you are and where you live and what bridge you typically cross to get to work...if you know what I mean.

@realjohnboy,
Yeah, but there may be cones on those bridges.. and it's not ice cream season.

@realjohnboy,
Is my math off here? Based on what you wrote here:

Quote:
Here is how it works:
- You get 1 point for each correct pick in the 4 Wild Card games...
- Plus you get 4 points if you get all 4 games right.
Then, you get 2 points for each game you get right in the first round of the playoffs...

I had 3 out of 4 correct in week 1's WC round = 3 points.
Then I got 4 out of 4 in this w/e contests = 8 points
Which would total 11 pts, correct?

@Ragman,
You are, of course, correct. Ragman has 11 points.

@realjohnboy,
Sorry I didn't get in on this year's, rjb....just got home from Chicago yesterday, and didn't have my computer with me. Got to see some of the Chi-town A2Kers, though, before we headed back to Idaho!

@CowDoc,
It is amazing to me to see what lengths JPB will go to to take out an opponent here. I am reminded of a punchline to an old joke: "...the beer that made Milt Famey walk us."

The weather in Denver and Seattle for tomorrow's games looks good.

We split 7-6 in favor of the Broncos - influenced by the Boston element here. The ESPN guys are divided 9-4. For me, the key will be how well the Denver defense performs.
We favor the Seahawks by a margin of 10-3 while the ESPN panel splits 8-5.
Home field advantage could be the edge.

Omaha wins!
Each of us who picked Denver collects 4 points. I have Ragman and AndyD with 15. Fbaezer has 14.

I think I have this right...
5 of us have Denver as being the winner of the Super Bowl - which will be worth 8 points:
Tico (who has 17 points thus far)
Johnboy (16)
Fbaezer (14)
JPB (11)
CoastalRat (10)

3 players choose Seattle:
AndyD (19)
ehBeth (15)
Mysteryman (10)

A perfect score would be, I believe, 32.

@Ragman,
Well, now we KNOW (that's a joke) for sure:

Betting on the Broncos? Don't say you weren't warned: At the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City, Eli the prognosticating ape smashes a papier mâché Seahawks helmet that she chose over a Broncos helmet, thus predicting Seattle will win Sunday's Super Bowl. Eli has correctly picked the Super Bowl winner for six straight years.

@ossobuco,
Well the half-time was ,,,,, how do you say.......not a good showcase for Bruno Mars. I like Bruno, mainly his versatility but the sound system sucked. Now here's my problem, I really don't understand football so I need to be interested in the team before I get involved. For many years I have watched mainly for the commercials. This year, the game, the commercials are below par. I think I'll tune into Shameless at 9 PM. I'm an old Colts fan, and never have gotten over the fact that he snuck out in the early morning hours and moved to Indianapolis. Can't warm up to the Ravens, prefer the Skins.

Oh snap, Audi just showed a terrific commercial, I'll be watching at least until 9PM. Oh for craps sake, it's 29 to 0....it's the Superbowl dammit.

Seattle has enough points already to almost make that impossible.

Go Andy!
