If u r not going to fight for the liberty
of Original Americanism, then WHAT is the point
of being a Republican of any variety ???

The whole idea is INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM and anti-authoritarianism.

@blueveinedthrobber,
OK. Now having looked at your link,
I see that it referred in part to the Democratic Party
in school board elections.

So far as I have understood, the Tea Party refers to American Patriots
in the 1773 Boston Tea Party led by the Sons of Liberty
and has no application to the Democratic Party.

Thank u.
I commented on the survival of Original Americanism,
which was implied in your chosen topic title.

Democrats r not ELIGIBLE to repudiate Tea Party supporters
(unless I 'm factually in error).

@edgarblythe,

Democrats can repudiate tea party supporters by shitcanning the people they elect. Which is exactly what they did.

I believe that it is at least connoted
that repudiation is a disavowal of previously accepted ideas.
For instance, Stalin repudiated the Russian Orthodox Church in whose seminary he was studying
and Hillary repudiated the Original Americanism of Barry Goldwater.
(She was once a Goldwater Girl.)

On the other hand, if a salesman approaches u
and u reject him in the middle of his pitch,
that is not a repudiation because u did not accept him in the first place.
(Its a little like u can't get a divorce if u have not been married.)

@OmSigDAVID,
The point is that the electoral district in which the election took place, repudiated the tea baggers. An election (in a republic like ours) should be open and free to all elegible.
I understand that the Kochs (and their minions) want an oligarchy in which the franchise would be denied to the "non true believers such as moderate Republicans or Democrats"

David reveals himself as an obsessive fanatic, divorced from ordinary day-to-day reality when he uses a propagandistic term like "original Americanism." Such a term implies that there once was a point of view which was embraced by all Americans (and, of course, that we have lost our way). Leaving aside the idiocy of suggesting that more than two hundred years later, a society would do well not to have changed an iota--there has never been a time in human history when all of any group of people agreed on everything.

David is a religious fanatic in the church of hysterical American reactionaries.

@Setanta,
He looks at anything that disagrees with his worldview as communist.

Teabaggers must buy the whole enchilada on originalism. I believe that their time in the sun will be abbreviated as people begin to wise up .

It does appear that in Raleigh and Wake Forest, voters have wised up.

@Setanta,
I would be willing to give David a partial victory and go back to the time when there were only black powder single shot guns that it took about 60 seconds to load.

The white man killed off most of the original Americans hundreds of years ago. Isn't it a little late to start a pow wow to defend them?

Or, perhaps when you say "original Americanism" you refer to the mindset that allowed the slaughter of all those original Americans by the white man?

I suppose School Board elections in two historically liberal NC counties could spell doom for Republicans of all persuasions in NC and nationally, but I doubt it.
