@Finn dAbuzz,

For liberals, the only rational conservative is the one that agrees with them.

Don't you think that a liberal is being rational when he/she agrees with you?

Would you please share one of them that all liberals disagreed with so that I can know what it is that you two agree about.

@reasoning logic,
i have no intention of doing that much work for you. I dont even agree with him very often, but there is a long running practice here of dismissing good arguments by mis-labeling them crap not worthy of response, which is what finn is talking about i think. people are also mis labeled as crap not worthy of having any of their ideas taken seriously, but that is another problem.

I thought that maybe you could think of just one good argument or debate and copy and paste it but no big deal. Wink

Actually, I agree with you here, Hawk. Good arguments often are dismissed as crap for no good reason...other than that the dismissing party disagrees.

@Frank Apisa,
it is cultural warfare being practiced...too few of us care where the truth is, or entertain the possibility that we dont already know.

@hawkeye10,
Finn presents his positions very well and very often. My favorite in politics has always been FreeDuck. I cherish those rare liberals who can make me seriously reevaluate a position.

As for warm and cuddly, I'll take what I can get even if it is just the fuzzy avatar.

@roger,
we should talk about why americans have become like this, why are we not willing to take others as our equals if we disagree with them, why do we try to cleanse the airwaves of views we dont agree with as if others would be infected with a fatal virus if they heard the "wrong" words ?

my theory is that too many people live in a fantasy world, and some where in the back of their minds they know they are not reality based, and they lash out at any threats to their delusions.

I am over 50, I remember when people could sit around with others that they deeply disagreed with, finding common ground, and having a good time. we lost that somewhere.

Do you think that people here would dismiss this as being crap not worthy of a response?

@hawkeye10,
The Internet has never been a place where people sit around with others and find common ground. It's really hard to do that when you don't have to look someone in the eye.

fair point, but I think what we see at A2K closely tracks what is happening outside of the internet.

Oh yeah, there was a draft exemption for college students in the Vietnam era. Four years college, more in post grad work, and the war was over. We have a word for people that followed that route. BOSS.

Well, that certainly was one way to prevent a body from getting involved in what was one humongous war crime, Roger.

From your tone, it sounds like you didn't quite make the grade.

Now it all comes out, eh? This was thee event that set you on your Finn-hunting ways.

You really never were any good at just letting things go, Setanta. In fact, I'd say that you are numero uno when it comes to holding a grudge.

@hawkeye10,
I can still do this with some conservatives in my area, and than there are the ones who just state BS as truth and refuse to reevaluate their position. With those I dont even try. Just listen and point out to them later that they were fed a bunch of crap from people with an agenda.
