Don't try and turn this back on me, I am not the one with the gun...
I 'm the one with the gun.
I think there'll be more ones with guns
at the Friends of NRA Banquet I 'm attending on Friday.

Its a nice video.
I 've seen it before.

U can have both.
Love and self defense are good.
Spare tires, jacks, health insurance policies and guns: u don t want to need them,
but u better HAVE them, if u need them. As Jesus advised: if u don 't have a sword, u better buy one.

I have both. I 'm loving, defensive, generous, selfish & greedy.
(To tell u the truth, I 'm not 1OO% clear on the precise definition
of that last one, but for sure I 'm: loving, defensive, generous, & selfish; maybe greedy).

I 've always been very PROUD of my selfishness, Rex. I recommend it to everyone.
Admittedly, I have hated lying, cheating (i.e., liberalism) and communism.

I have hated violent criminals. I have wished that their victims
had enuf power to kill the violent predators.

I cheer for the good guys.
That 's Y I fight against gun control.

Today I went to the supermarket,

NO ONE had a gun in the store, imagine that!!!

I saw the supermarket manger (who i secretly have a huge crush on) he blushed when I looked at him. He did not turn and flash any piece by his side.

I walked though the store and no one wanted to shoot or rob me. Out of the 20 years I have been going there this is the usual way things are.

I went to the seafood section and talked with a dear lesbian friend, she did not stick a gun up to my neck and ask me if I wanted clams or haddock.

I hugged her the moment I saw her. Then I braved my way over to the back of the store. EVERYONE smiled at me and I felt no need to pull out a gun and shoot my way over to the cheese section. A woman almost cut me off near the pork freezer. I smiled and let her go ahead of me and felt no need to pullout a piece and shoot her.

Then I arrived at the dairy section and I was not asked by the grocery stock person if I wanted to live or not. A woman with a child in the cart needed to get through a narrow part of the aisle. I did not pull out a gun and hold a standoff. I waved to her and said, "you go first". As she walked by I smiled and said, "I am not in a hurry".

I checked out my groceries and I was not held at gunpoint with extortion.

I walked home through the city carrying bags of groceries and I did not once feel like I had a price-tag around my neck.

The cars on the rush hour road almost ran me over but no gunfire was exchanged...

I got back to my apartment and my neighbors were not waiting to ambush me. So far no one has called me tonight and tried to extort money other than the Republicans who called me for a survey and would not reveal which party that funded the survey so I hung up.

Timothy 4:2 KJV
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Comment:
How is the word preached?

Well in alleyways and in the darkest of recesses and places ministers venture in and preach.

That means you put yourself at risk and carry no weapon other than wit. It is a leap of faith.

This is a story I have never told anyone ever on this forum. I have thought about it many times but the very words have each time escaped me. Yes some things I keep silent about until the right time provides itself.

Well this is a true story and lies at the basis of my reasoning of why I think the way I do about guns.

It is extremely complicated yet also at the same time exceeding simple.

I am sure you have probably never heard any story like this.

The Christian ministry I was a part of decided to do a brave thing. They sent missionaries into the most troubled parts of New York City.

No I was not one of those missionaries but I did hear a live testimony of one of the missionaries first hand.

The missionary told us a testimonial of something that actually happened.

One day there was this girl and she was having a problem with her gang leader boyfriend. He did not want her hanging around with the religious missionaries.

So they lured the missionary into a back alley.

And they were going to beat him up. Should he have had a gun?

Well, you decide.

They were threatening him with violence and all of a sudden the missionary realized he had these sign up cards for a Bible class in his back pocket.

As they gang motioned to beat down on him he pulled out the cards and began to try and sign them up for a Bible class. He just started talking wildly about the basic premises of the class. Talking over them as if they were someone else! Something popped in his head and told him that was the thing to do.

The gang looked at him crazily and thought he had gone insane so they out of frustration walked off and left him alone. As if light had dispelled darkness.

Had he had a gun perhaps there would have been several dead people left in the alleyway.

He was able to escape with the girl and with his health intact.

What is the moral of this story?

Be instant in season and out of season.

What does that really mean?

Luke 10:4 KJV
Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

Comment:
Why not carry a scrip? Why not have sermon ready? Why not a gun? Why not premeditate your actions down to the letter? Why should a person be caught off guard and have to improvise along the way? Why not be prepared for the possible outcome?

Well the idea is that there are too many variables to ever anticipate a proper outcome.

Thus one must rely on spontaneous and instant wit. No speech can ever compete with raw intuition.

Shoot someone and it is premeditated. That is a sin.

And the possible outcomes are unfathomable. The presence of a gun could be the reason why a gun owner is taken down. It would not be the first time a gun has been used against its owner. Guns are not the only possible way of resolving a dispute.

So you leave it up to providence. I am not sure if I am explaining this well.

If you are going to have faith in anything have faith in your own ability to survive and don't contrive a lifestyle of fear and fraught.

"Headlines"... Missionary goes into alleyway and shoots 4 young men...

There are so many possible outcomes that a gun can actually be the very thing that brings one down in their own self inflicted wrath.

No one but a deity can know all possible outcomes. One must have faith in providence and human wit. In other words, talk your ass off 'til you see a way out.

I live by this, carry no script or gun and depend on providence to open a door...

Carry no scrip and be instant in season and out of season. Peace and love always..

Love your guns not your children.... (abhorrent) [U can love BOTH,
and the children can LOVE the guns.]

When we were kids,
NO ONE "sent" us somewhere to play. We just wandered around the naborhood.
Almost all of us were well-armed, so we were safe, no trouble.

Kids shud be trained in competent handling of guns
from the earliest years of public schooling.

Kids should be allowed to be young before youth is stolen by the hardness adulthood

You are full of crap.

Children need to be sheltered from the storm and not indoctrinated by the ugliness of petty human conflicts.

NOTHING was stolen; we had no complaints of losing anything. Looking back on my childhood,
I don t see anything rong with it. I woud not change anything, if I coud. Those were happy times.
We HAD the means of self defense; that was GOOD.

RexRed wrote:

Children have been maimed & killed by violent animals
and by violent people, because those children did not
have the means to defend themselves.

Like anyone, thay shud have enuf power to control a predatory event.

As kids, we WANTED guns and training in their best use.

WE LOVED GUNS and working out with them.

Truly, that 's what we kids had in mind: personal safety.
We also liked gunnery practice. Its fun. I 'm a fairly decent shot.

RexRed wrote:

Well, I sure can 't deny
being obsessive & fanatical over defense,
but not queer, since age 13 + c.4 months. That 's when Joyce got to me.
I can remember lying in bed at age 3, fondling revolvers in my memory, that I 'd seen on police.

O, feel the THRILL!!!!!
We don t have to wait for the 4th of July!
Just use memory to caress our very recent judicial triumphs!

On Friday, Sept. 26th, I m going to Chicago,
for the Annual Meeting of the 2nd Amendment Foundation's
Gun Rights Policy Conference. We r going to be some very happy fellows!
