If the police opt to arrest
and if a prosecutor elects to charge defendant with crime,
then a jury can decide whether merely SEEING a hood,
without more, is a REASONABLE threat or not.

Does that include the deaths of violent felons
like Jesse James, John Dillinger, Nazi George Lincoln Rockwell,
and the Chechen immigrant that bombed the Boston Marathon??
Does that include people who made the decision to end their human lives ?

It's irrelevant to the fact Rex posted who is included. I assume it's a fact.

U have checked with all 3rd parties
to ascertain their views? Really??

It does not follow. All it takes for a discontinuity is
a fellow not caring about the lives of others
and attributing no value to them,
as he does when he reads of statistics of fatalities
from traffic collisions without becoming emotional.

On the other hand, his own exposure to danger
from traffic hazzards might be of much concern to him.

Yes. You're a third party to the events involving others.

And I did not say "of no value".

From Reuters...today:

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court on Monday declined to wade into the politically volatile issue of gun control by leaving intact three court rulings rejecting challenges to federal and state laws.

The court's decision not to hear the cases represented a loss for gun rights advocates, including the National Rifle Association, which was behind two of the challenges.

The first case involved a challenge by the NRA to a Texas law that prevents 18-20 year olds from carrying handguns in public. It also raised the broader question of whether there is a broad right under the Second Amendment to bear arms in public.

The second NRA case was a challenge to several federal laws and regulations, dating back to 1968, that make it illegal for firearms dealers to sell guns or ammunition to anyone under 21.

The third case was on the narrow question of whether consumers have the legal right to challenge laws that regulate the sale of firearms. The challenge to a federal law that restricts the interstate transport of guns, and a related Virginia law, were filed by several District of Columbia residents who wished to obtain guns via neighboring Virginia.

The court has yet to decide whether there is a right to carry guns in public, a question left unanswered in its two most recent gun-related decisions.

In the 2008 District of Columbia v. Heller case, the court held that the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guaranteed an individual right to bear arms. Two years later in McDonald v. City of Chicago, the court held that the earlier ruling applied to the states.

A woman and her family were sleeping in the upstairs of their Fenton, Mo.
home when the woman awakened to the sound of the front door being opened.
The woman retrieved a gun and went to the top of the stairs,
where she spotted the intruders. The woman then fired at the criminals,
causing them to flee. (KMOV, St. Louis, Mo. February 21, 2014)

She gave them the 1 gun salute !

@RexRed,
The 2nd Amendment has no age limits.
EVERYONE has an equal right to defensive life-saving equipment.

EVERYONE has as much right to defend his life as anyone else.

No person is so young as to have a duty
to offer himself up for the slaughter, in the discretion of criminals or animals who woud kill him.
