@Baldimo,
I am just curious:

How does a ban altogether have exceptions? Wouldn't exceptions mean it isn't a total ban?

@parados,
The exceptions would only apply to military and police. So yes there would still a ban for the average citizen.

@Baldimo,
So it isn't a ban altogether then. That was just your hyperbole.

@parados,
If the laws are passed to prevent people from getting firearms is a ban.

@Baldimo,
Your response is telling about how your brain, err, fails to work Baldi... I saw both logical inferences from the video and also emotional... Your brain has to be infantile to not see the logic also...

The police officer asked Zimmerman, "ARE YOU FOLLOWING HIM"? Zimmerman said, "Yep." The police officer responded, "OKAY, WE DON'T NEED YOU TO DO THAT!'

Logic is made up of statements and responses. Zimmerman disobeyed a DIRECT ORDER from the police...

At that point he Zimmerman should have backed completely off.... THAT IS THE LOGIC BEING MADE HERE.

Some people have turd for brains... They are so blinded by racism they cannot see logic, only emotion... Some people are so bigoted they cannot even comprehend emotion...

Dead head and dead heart... zombies.

It would be a restriction, not a ban...

Congress has jurisdiction over police, military and civilian where a mayor has jurisdiction only over police and civilian. If a mayor were to ban guns for the civilian population within their jurisdiction and not the police then it would still not be a ban on guns.

Congress can ban certain military weapons i.e. chemical weapons...

This ban also goes for civilian and police... I don't see you complaining that you cannot have your own supply of mustard gas...

It would not be called a ban if a senator proposed such a law because the senate also has jurisdiction over the military and police...

If the senate (and house) only had jurisdiction over the people it could be called a ban...

U claim that a citizen ONLY
has the right to do things that the police NEED????

Rex, please explain how
the police acquired jurisdiction to stop anyone
from FOLLOWING someone. I challenge that jurisdiction.

If u claim that the police had any more
jurisdiction than the Fuller Brush Man or than the Hell 's Angels
to stop anyone from following someone, then please offer proof of such jurisdiction
by citation to proper statutory or judicial authority. Thank u.

@OmSigDAVID,
David other countries are BOYCOTTING travel to the US "because we are too VIOLENT"... If they can curb random acts of violence with gun control laws in their countries that is the way to go. It is either curb violence by banning certain guns and who can own them or be ridiculed by the rest of the civilized world...

Your jacked up idea of freedom is no more than foolish gesturing and a posture of hateful uncivilized rhetoric.

Is America too violent? Well the republicans certainly are. Do we really need more republican politicians? HELL NO!!!

@RexRed,
And yet these random acts of violence have been committed by people who would not be voting for a GOP candidate anytime soon if ever.

Your answer to the problem doesn't take into account who is committing these types of crimes. Banning or restricting guns won't fix the issue of people wanting to to bad. The Chris Lane shooting, did they find out where the gun came from? Were these young thugs parents NRA members?

Hell can you even point to someone who was a registered republican who committed these crimes or other similar types of shootings? You better check who commits these types of crimes before you start spewing your pointless hate.

@RexRed,
Your comment makes no sense. You made a statement about republicans and gun violence, I'm asking you to back it up.

Can you show that Republicans have perpetuated the gun violence in this country?
