Assuming, for the sake of argument that the statistic is true,
it includes suicides and homicides.
Some homicides (like killing Travon Martin, or killing Julius & Ethel Rosenberg) were very good.
I see no harm in homicides between & among rival drug gangs in turf disputes
or homicides among the Mafia personnel
or victims successfully killing robbers or killing burglars on-the-job.
Regarding the suicides:
1. everyone has an absolute right to end his own life whenever he chooses
and
2. people have been doing so since long b4 guns were invented.
Sharp instruments or falls have worked very well.
Perhaps you should go and do likewise... You seem totally heartless and brainless. You will do anything to justify your guns including forfeiting justice and rule of law...
You appear to have no pity or compassion for victims of senseless violence. You use your rational like a criminal...

@RexRed,
He also gave the stupidest advice ever on self-defense. Firing a warning shot into the air? You do know what goes up must come down.
I suppose you can take that up with whoever coined the phrase "warning shot"... So are you supposed to shoot a warning shot into the ground so it can ricochet back in your face? I would like your opinion on where exactly you do shoot a "warning shot" ? Say you are outdoors in a crowded place, do you shoot it horizontally? What exactly is your expert advice Baldimo? Just so you don't seem stupid yourself...
Vice President Joe Biden, in February 2013, stated that gun owners could fire a warning shot to ward off intruders:
I don't see in that quote your phrase "in the air"...
There should never be a warning shot. Go take a conceal carry class or any type of firearms class, you will never hear the term warning shot being used. It isn't taught and it isn't recommended except by those who don't know anything about firing a gun. If I find myself in a place where I have to fire a shot period, it is going in at the person I'm worried about.
I learned to shoot at the age of about 13, from my father who a police officer. Go ask any officer you find on the street, ask him if a warning shot is ok? Let me know what they tell you.
Well, concerning this matter, I disagree with you, I disagree with "any officer on the street", I also disagree with the law and I agree with Joe Biden...
I think in many cases you should warn someone before you kill them...
Say "Stop or I'll shoot!", then decide if a warning shot is needed....
Saying stop or I'll shoot is way different then firing a warning shot. You can disagree all you want, and that shows you know nothing about firearms or shooting them. You would be the dangerous person with a firearm if you had one. Where do you think that warning shot is going to go?
Stop or I'll shoot comes before a warning shot and a warning shot in most cases should come before actually shooting someone. Illegal or not if I felt mortally threatened I would give a warning shot. I know my own nature and that is what I would do. So I broke the law and shot the air and made a big bang boom, sorry...
I hate guns but if put directly in that situation I would probably try and survive if I really felt threatened.
In Islamic countries (and some others) people shoot weapons into the air all the time...
I am not sure if I would fire a warning shot if I were inside an enclosure or building, maybe if I aimed the gun up towards the outside or up and out a window.
Yea a single warning shot would be dangerous... (cynical)
I think you just want to advocate the murder of people without giving it a thought.
You can say I'm advocating murder, but someone breaking into my house is an advocate for their own death.
Here's the problem with a warning shot. Can you guarantee that your warning shot isn't going to hit someone when it passes through a wall or is fired up in the air?

I commend the noble Zimmy
for the success of his warning shot. It worked.
Your right to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones
when faced with a deadly threat is not bestowed on you by government.
Indeed, self-defense is the most fundamental of all human rights,
and it’s the duty of our elected officials to preserve it.
That is why the 5 million men and women of the National Rifle Association
will not allow self-defense to be used as a scapegoat so that Obama
and his administration can continue to exploit tragedies to push
their political agenda.
We will continue to defend the right of all Americans – regardless
of race, color and creed – to defend themselves and one another.
Attorney General Eric Holder shockingly claimed that pro-self-defense laws
"sow conflict." Last week, Obama demonstrated that he, too, does not
recognize that your right to save your own life is a fundamental human right.
"Stand your ground" or "no duty to retreat" laws, recognize that a
person who is attacked in any place where that person has a right
to be, may use defensive force without first being required to retreat.
This is important, because determining whether a safe retreat is
available may require a split-second calculation that could end up
being a losing gamble for the innocent person who is under attack.
Criminals don’t always back off when their victims retreat.
Some chase them down. They corner them. They gain a significant
and deadly advantage once a victim turns his or her back.
Fundamental justice does not demand that people endanger themselves,
or their families, in such a manner, and neither should our laws.
Despite Obama’s assertion that "stand your ground" laws are a new
concept in self-defense, they are in fact founded in common sense,
natural law, and are well enshrined in American jurisprudence.
As pointed out by numerous constitutional law scholars, the right
to stand your ground against a threat can be found in common law
at least as far back as the 1895 case of Beard v. United States.
Here, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that a victim
"was not obliged to retreat, nor to consider whether he could
safely retreat, but was entitled to stand his ground, and meet any
attack upon him with a deadly weapon, in such a way and with
such force as, under all the circumstances, he, at the moment,
honestly believed, and had reasonable grounds to believe, were
necessary to save his own life, or to protect himself from great bodily injury."
Gun control supporters falsely claim that "stand your ground" laws
cause an increase in crime. To the contrary, the national violent
crime rate has decreased in 18 of the last 20 years, according to
the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Furthermore, the murder rate
dropped significantly between 2005 and 2009, the same time
frame in which approximately 25 states passed stronger self-defense laws.
The right to self-defense is a fundamental human right that deserves
bipartisan protection at every level of government.
No parent should ever be denied the right to defend his or her children.
No woman should ever be denied the right to defend herself
against a violent, sexual predator. Very simply, people should be
denied the right to defend themselves in the face of grave danger
and despite the views of the president and his attorney general,
this is a point on which most Americans agree.
Chris W. Cox is the executive director of the Institute for Legislative Action,
the political and lobbying arm of National Rifle Association.
David, it did not work. I still believe in a warning shot and you are still a heartless gun fanatic freak... All you and your ilk have done is demonstrated publicly for all to see how cold blooded and careless you are. Don't expect to win any popularity contest over this...
A warning shot may hit the precious irreplaceable wall or damage and kill the the air beyond resuscitation but may avoid hitting a love one who may have lost or forgotten their house keys...
This man said it would never happen to him too. Proud and boastful with his guns... Lover of the second amendment. Imagine had he just taken ONE "warning shot" and started a dialogue he might have heard the faint but distinguishable words, "Grandpa?".
