Isn't the mask lovely! she is much smaller and thinner than I'd expected. She's going to gain some muscle with all the w.a.l.k.s. she is getting.

Bailey is smiling non-stop, seems much less stressed and has started sitting on his loveseat again. yay!

I'm a mess, mess, mess, with dog loss. Sometimes when I post it is from a distance to that, like I get the larger picture.

Today I don't.
But I get love of Bella.

Us are complicated.

She's called a Papi-tzu, because she's a mix of papillon and shih tzu--what they call a designer dog. She's a rescue from a puppy mill where she was bred to produce litters of cute (and therefore very lucrative) puppies. A lot of people have commented on how much she resembles a Cavalier King Charles.

There are a few, but the RCSPCA is a very wealthy and powerful organization, and hunts them down. A lot of the rescues available in Canada come from the U.S. Apparently, Canajuns are very good about adopting rescues--they just brought in hundreds of dogs from puppy mills in Ohio, as well as hundreds of other general rescues.

Puppy mills are a particular problem in Quebec.

Bella came from a Canadian hoarder/breeder.

A lot of the rescues here get dogs from Ohio.
