Yes, I have a friend in Texas who has had dealings with a Clear Channel biggy. A true slimeball this fellow. The good news is that my friend won a multi-million dollar settlement when the adjudicator found out just how slimey and deceitful the fellow had been.

blatham:

Our daughter is an RN at a huge acute bed hospital in Austin. She decided she was tired of the snow and moved there in 1998 upon graduation.

Anyway, she told us the local C&W radio station banned all Dixie Chicks music because of the lead singer's remarks about Bush being from their home state of Texas.

Naturally, the C&W station is owned by Clear Channel.

This, is George W. Bush's Amerika.

I'm listening to the "O'Franken Factor" as we speak, via the link provided by blatham. It makes me so happy to know it's there.

Take no prisoners, Al!

It seems to me that Bush is already dropping a brick on his self. Ah but what kind of brick there is the rub.

I found a post by someone who was listening to it:

Quote:
Whoever said that liberal radio couldn't be entertaining certainly hasn't listened to the first hour of this "monumental event". This show is so bad. Just to amuse yourself with what the liberals want to air in a head-to-head showdown against Rush Limbaugh, give it a listen. It will make your day. Needless to say, no worries of success here.

Five whole radio stations, wowee.

I found another thread with more comments about the show:

Quote:
Is anybody listening to Air America. What a crappy start. I wonder when or if he will take calls? How hard is it going to be for a conservative to get on the air???

Quote:
I heard Stuart Smalley himself say that his number 1 priority is to get sued today. So, I guess he won't disappoint......he'll keep defaming, slandering, and lying about people.

Quote:
Uhhhhhhhhh, uhhhhhhhhhh, uhhhhhhhhhhh, uhhhhhhhhhh....
This sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit... A bad one.

Quote:
What a snore. Pointless, vapid...just as I expected.

Quote:
this "babble" is brutal.... lol

Quote:
This is incredible...LOL They're mimicing Ann Coulter.. IS THIS BAD!!! lol
They have absolutely nothing to say..

Quote:
Of course there's a tendency to find a show with a different political position to be badly done, etc. I'm trying hard to be objective in listening.

In all honesty, I'm surprised and relieved to find how weak it is. I read this morning that there were 11 professional writers on the show. And this is it?

Right now, the girl co-host just called Ann Coulter "despicable," and they're running a parody of Ann Coulter chewing out a foreigner in the Green Room for not having what she demanded for snacks.

Frankly, that sounds much more like something Barbra Streisand would do.

But above all, it's just weak.

What's the difference really, where they come from? Anyone can find anonymous comments to support an argument. And I'm sure the righties are out there with knives and forks ready to take on Air America. They must have been salivating...

I want to listen and give Al a chance. While I don't listen to GOP radio (ie Rush, Hannity), I do like Libertarian radio (Neal Boortz). I like middle of the road radio hosts who do not hesitate to point out the foolishness of both parties.

I am listening to it right now. I think it may take a while, but I think it will stick. As long as they don't listen to all nay sayers who want them to fail and just keep on.

I just hope these guys will get some conservatives to debate some ideas and points with them. If they just bash everything on the right day after day, they are not going to make it.

Nah, they aren't bashing everything on the right. They are targeting the things on the right that have gone very wrong.
