While unappetizing, explosive sounds coming from a restaurant bathroom don't normally cause fear and alarm.

But that's exactly what happened Wednesday night in the Burger King at 490 Loucks Road in Manchester Township, police said.

A 12-year-old boy is dead after he was accidentally shot by his 16-year-old brother in their Lake Nona home, Orlando police said.

The 16-year-old will not face charges, Sgt. Jim Young, an Orlando police spokesman, said late Friday. But an investigation continues.

It was the second time this week that guns in the hands of minors had a tragic ending in Orange County.

Police say Drunk Man Accidentally Shot Another Man

A 28-year-old Philadelphia man says he accidentally shot and killed his girlfriend after his neighbor threatened him Saturday.

Police sources tell NBC10's Nefertiti Jaquez he will be charged with murder in any case.

The man told police he was arguing with his neighbor, possibly an "uncle," in front of his home on E Seltzer Street in the Kensington section of the city around 7:45 p.m. The man claims his neighbor pulled out a hammer and threatened him during the heated exchange.

Police sources told Jaquez the argument with the uncle was over $50.

The man says he was scared for his safety and pulled out a gun but then tripped over his own feet and accidentally pulled the trigger, shooting his 27-year-old girlfriend in the neck. She was taken to the hospital where she died.

MARION COUNTY, TN. (WRCB) - Channel 3 is learning more about how a Marion County father accidentally shot his teenage son. The shooting happened at the family's home near South Pittsburg Thursday around 6:30 p.m. CDT.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office says Kenneth Fagin was in his Kelly Cove Road home working on his 9mm gun. They say he'd just put a firing pin in it, and stepped out on the back porch to test it out.

"He thought he was in the house and the woods was real thick so he didn't realize the son was in the woods," Marion County Sheriff Ronnie "Bo" Burnett says.

When Kenneth Fagin fired the 9mm into the woods surrounding his house, the bullet shot 200 feet straight into his 13-year-old son's left shoulder.

"Another couple inches, it could've been fatal," Sheriff Burnett says.

A man prohibited from possessing a gun was arrested by Mesa police and accused of manslaughter after he accidentally shot and killed his 18-year-old girlfriend.

Matthew Walsh, 23, purchased the .38 caliber handgun in a casino parking lot and was showing the gun to his girlfriend on March 13 when he accidentally shot her in the hip, according to a court document.

Dale Peterson, a tough-talking, rifle-brandishing Alabama man who won Internet fame with some colorful political campaign ads, has been charged with stealing for a second time — this time accused of helping himself to cashews.

Ohio man shoots himself in three places while playing with a gun

Police also are investigating the Sunday morning accidental shooting of a 35-year-old man on the city’s East Side.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Charlotte Avenue at 3:30 a.m. for a shooting. When officers arrived at the location, they were told a man was in the house playing with a gun and shot himself. Officers went to St. Elizabeth Health Center where they interviewed the man and determined he had been shot in the hand, thigh and calf.

It's a good thing the man with the hammer didn't trip and kill anyone.

Using a tree for target practice sounds harmless enough, right? That wasn't the case for an Iowa man who is recovering at a hospital after the tree he aimed his gun at fired back.

A Troutdale man is facing criminal charges after an accidental shooting sent a bullet blasting through two neighboring apartments.

Investigators said it happened at 11:15 a.m. at the Glacier View Apartments near Stark Street and Corbeth Lane.

Lawrence Wach, 29, was cleaning his handgun in the living room when it went off, according to detectives.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was hospitalized after he accidentally shot himself in the leg during his getaway following a robbery in the Antioch area.

A police affidavit said the robbery victims, ages 22 and 8, were getting into a vehicle in the parking lot of the Preakness apartments on Bell Road around 6 p.m. when they were approached by a man, later identified as 18-year-old Ladon Giddens. They said he pointed a gun at them, and demanded their belongings.

They complied, and the robber fled the scene with an iPhone and approximately $10. During his getaway, Giddens dropped his gun, which discharged. He was hit in the leg but hobbled around one of the apartment complex buildings and got into a Chrysler Sebring.

EL CAJON, Calif. - Police said a man accidentally shot himself overnight in the parking lot of the Westfield Shopping Mall in El Cajon.

The El Cajon Police Department said the shooting occurred around midnight in front of Bob's Big Boy restaurant on the west side of the mall located at 605 Fletcher Parkway.

According to officers, a man in his 20s was sitting with friends in the back of a parked Ford Focus when he decided to play with a loaded gun.
