BURRELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Channel 11 News has confirmed that a hunter accidentally shot a man Monday afternoon in Armstrong County.

The incident was reported in the area of Iron Bridge Road in Burrell Township around 4 p.m.

Channel 11’s Joe Holden reported a hunter in the woods thought he was shooting a deer, but instead hit a man in a canoe.

The man was shot in the back and flown to a Pittsburgh Hospital. His name and condition haven’t been released.

BLACKMAN TWP., MI — Police said a 16-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his brother, thinking a handgun was unloaded when he pointed it at the 21-year-old.

The younger brother told authorities he took the handgun into his brother's room, and said something to the effect of, "Do you feel lucky?" before pulling the trigger, Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety Deputy Director Jon Johnston said in an email.

Police have not released any names.

A hunter was accidentally shot in the leg Saturday in Westminster on the first day of Maryland's most popular hunting season, Natural Resources Police said.

Three friends were unloading the ammunition from their shotguns before leaving the private property where they had been legally hunting when one of their guns went off, NRP spokewsoman Candy Thomson said.

The victim, a 44-year-old of Westminster, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he had surgery after midnight and was in critical but stable condition Sunday, Thomson said.

Police are investigating the incident, but they believe that the victim's 66-year-old friend who fired the gun did not mean to do it.

Six-year-old Michael Cattron lost his mother last summer and uncle last year to gun violence in Chicago. But Friday night while watching cartoons, his young life was cut short by what police are calling an "apparently accidental," gunshot wound.

"It feels like I'm floating," said Pierre Curry, Michael's grandfather. "I have to take deep, deep breaths. I just can't believe it."

Michael Cattron, 6, was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Officials said the incident happened Friday night at his home in an unincorporated area near Villa Park.

STRINGTOWN, Okla. -- Family and friends are mourning the death of a former Stringtown and Murray State College basketball player.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokespersons said the 23-year-old man was accidentally shot Friday by a 3-year-old.

Family members were at a home on Wells Street in Stringtown, and were sighting-in a rifle, when one of the children reached over and pulled the trigger, shooting Brown in the neck.

SHERIDAN, wyo. —Police say a rifle discharged after a dog apparently stepped on it, injuring a 46-year-old man in northern Wyoming.

Johnson County Sheriff Steve Kozisek (KAHS'-eh-sec) said Richard L. Fipps, of Sheridan, was struck in the arm by a bullet on Monday.

He says the injury is not life-threatening but Fipps is being treated in a hospital in Billings, Montana.

Kozisek told The Sheridan Press (http://bit.ly/1sMfrgZ ) that Fipps and two others were in a remote area trying to move a vehicle that had become stuck. Fipps was standing beside his truck when he told his dog to move from the front seat to the back seat.

Kozisek said a rifle was on the back seat and discharged toward Fipps.

Kozisek said the shooting appeared to be an accident.

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Clarksville Police responded to a call of shots fired near the Bass Pro Shop. When they arrived on scene, they found an individual with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Police said the victim brought his gun to trade it with another person, the two met in the Bass Pro parking lot. He reportedly said he thought the gun was unloaded, and went to set the gun down when it discharged and shot him in the stomach at the far end of the parking lot of the store.

DETROIT (WXYZ) - A 16-year-old teen boy is dead after an accidental shooting Christmas day, according to Henry Ford Hospital.

We're told he was shot in the head after a few teenagers were playing with a gun in the basement.

Jaden Rahm, 16, was driving a pickup carrying three of his friends Monday, headed from Yuma High School to lunch, when one of the teens in the back seat tried to move a hunting shotgun out of the way.

The firearm accidentally discharged, authorities say, sending a blast through the driver's seat and into Jaden's chest. The boy was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead about noon.

A 6-year-old boy was killed in an apparent accidental shooting in the western suburbs just months after his mother was killed in a shooting on a Chicago expressway.

Michael Cattron had been living in unincorporated Villa Park since his mother was shot to death in the city's Englewood neighborhood last summer. He had reportedly been watching cartoons Friday night when he somehow came in contact with a gun in the basement. It is unclear whether he or one of the other children in the room fired the weapon, but police say the shooting appears to have been accidental.

A woman in the US state of Idaho has been killed after her two-year-old son accidentally shot her with a gun he found when reaching into her handbag.

The woman, named by the local sheriff's office as Veronica J Rutledge, 29, was shot in a Wal-Mart in Hayden, a town in Idaho's northern panhandle.

She had been shopping with several children at the time, a spokesman for the office said.

Officials said Ms Rutledge had had a concealed weapons permit.

She and her children had been in the rear of the store near the electronics area when the shooting occurred, they said.

The Wal-Mart closed after the shooting and is not expected to reopen until Wednesday.

Witnesses and video surveillance from the store helped officials determine the shooting was accidental, said broadcaster KREM.

The victim came from Blackfoot, a town in the south of Idaho, the sheriff's office said in a statement on Facebook.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — A police chief told a 911 operator that he accidentally shot his wife early New Year's Day inside their suburban home southwest of Atlanta, investigators said Thursday.

Peachtree City Police Chief William McCollom called 911 around 4:15 a.m. and reported shooting his wife, Margaret, inside the couple's bedroom, Peachtree City Police Lt. Mark Brown said. McCollom's wife was flown to Atlanta Medical Center.

Indiana couple arrested after filming baby putting gun in mouth

Police in Evansville, Indiana, arrested the the mother of a one-year-old baby and her boyfriend after
they discovered a video of the child playing with a 40-caliber handgun, police said in a statement.

Police found the video on a cellphone owned by Michael Barnes, a 19-year-old robbery suspect who
was arrested on Thursday night after selling a handgun to an undercover officer. Police said they
searched Barnes’ phone after his arrest and found the video, which shows the child playing with the
weapon. The boy is seen putting the muzzle in his mouth as Barnes instructs the child to say “pow”.

9-month-old dies after being shot in the head
by 5-year-old brother in NW Mo.

ELMO, Mo. – An infant has died after being shot in the head in Northwest Missouri.

According to the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office, the nine-month-old baby boy was
shot shortly before nine o’clock Monday morning by his five-year-old brother at their
residence, located at 101 S. Scott in Elmo, Missouri, which is just south of the Iowa
border.

According to the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office the mother of the two children said
her five-year-old son shot her infant in the head with a paintball gun. But after an
ambulance and law enforcement were dispatched to the location, it was determined
the nine-month-old had been shot in the head with a .22 caliber magnum revolver.

Nodaway County Sheriff, Darren White, said the loaded gun had been kept on a shelf
which was built into the headboard of the master bed. The infant was in a crib in that
room, and law enforcement found the gun nearby.

Clarence Daniels, 62, (who is black) walked into a Florida Walmart on Tuesday to buy his wife creamer when he was tackled by 43-year-old Michael Foster. Foster apparently witnessed Daniels take his handgun from his vehicle and conceal it under his jacket. Foster then followed Daniels into the store, tackled him and placed him in a chokehold.

EAGAN, Minn. -- By all accounts the brothers, 15 and 13 years old were just playing while their parents weren't home.

Playing, they found their father's 9-millimeter pistol.

The boys played with the magazine, loading and unloading it, and then police said the older boy was holding the gun and it fired.

"While playing cops and robbers the 15-year-old male accidentally fired one shot at his 13-year-old brother, striking him in the chest," Eagan Police Detective Desiree Schroepfer said.

CNN)The mother called 911 to say her 5-year-old boy shot his baby brother with a paintball gun.

But it wasn't a paintball gun. It was a .22-caliber Magnum revolver. And the 9-month-old boy didn't survive.

Authorities are trying to figure out what led to Monday's shooting in Elmo, in the northwest corner of Missouri.

"At this point foul play is not suspected, and it appears at this time that the shooting was accidental," the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office said.

A 14-year-old boy playing with a gun accidentally shot himself Saturday afternoon in Fred Alexander Park, off McAllister Drive and Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte.

Medic took the victim to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries about 3 p.m.
