I had to google Fifty Shades of Grey. I'm really out of it sometimes. Wow! sex and everything. And I missed it entirely.

Yes, fm. Life without TV can be both dull and uninformed. But then, we still miss stuff. Rotting minds..........like kids won't get into it anyway.

Actually, I was never a big fan of television...other than sports coverage and some of the educational shows.

But lately I've found several series that delight me.

Most are on PBS, HBO, or SHO...but even the networks occasionally come up with a show like "Elementary"...which really is entertaining.

Homeland, Game of Thrones, Newsroom, The Borgias, Rome, (the long gone) I, Claudius...all are well worth the watching.

Speaking of television, Lola, it has been years since I told you about my daughter, Katrina. She is currently a casting director for two television shows.

In my other forum...a movie critic has been suggesting that casting directors ought to be honored by awards in the several awards venues. He is of the opinion that casting directors contribute in great measure to a motion picture (or television show)...and as such, deserve the consideration.

and rightly so in my opinion. artistic creativeness, and the ability to make use of ones imagination (both are relevant in casting IMO, as you need the ability to visualise someone playing a role that isn't their own character) are qualities i respect, mainly due to my own lack thereof.

That's a very materialistic viewpoint Jock. The economy slows a little I'll admit but the country by no means grinds to a halt.

lol i was exaggerating slightly, but you have to admit we are never prepared, and overreact. never enough gritters out, trains face major disruption, memorably once due to "the wrong type of snow", runway closures at gatwick and heathrow (i mean seriously...if canada, scandinavia and siberia can cope, why can't we?), etc.

it's just bad organisation, and even worse excuses in my honest opinion.

That's excellent, wande. My children make me proud too. Katrina is a beautiful name too. Casting director sounds like a challenging job. I could use a little help with the cafe myself.

This joint is absolutely dreadful. A bunch of wonderfully delightful dingbats trying to pose as intellectuals always takes on that sort of hue.

There is no way for an intellectual to be wonderfully delightful. You would all do well to get that into the sedimentary skull formations. Intellectuals are assholes.

It's not really fair to single out Joe for straining at the creative originality sphincter except insofar that his production has taken slightly more effort than one usually associates with a well ordered constitution.
