@Lola,
Well, says Wassau, I don't know where it is, but if you can find it, I can help you make it appear.

So this place is still open? I was beginning to wonder what was going on behind the newspapered glass. I see there's a new wall mural. Nice. Adds a spark of friendliness.

@vonny,
That's a photo to remember.

My favorite memory re a coffee house is Ramones, back in Eureka, California.

Our design studio was a block away, and they had the best coffee and pastries and comfort zone. A place to read the paper alone, a place to talk with pals, a place, that if you needed to go to the bathroom, you could also pick up a used book to read on the way in or out of the bathroom.

That was around the time some folks started a practice and I think a website (I don't remember the name) for leaving books around.

@Lola,
I read some article something like two months ago about our now being able to drink as much coffee as we wish. I probably saved the link - nag me if you want to see it.

I'm a long time morning coffee drinker, but I've memories of no time limits and not having a problem with that.

I haven't plotted out my life but I bet that was when I was working walloping long hours, and I drank coffee then, any time, and fell asleep whenever I could stop whatever was the task. That's a small window, but I remember it.

@George,
Why thank you Wassau. If I could find it, I would greatly appreciate you making it appear. Could you just make it appear without that first part?

@Sturgis,
Sorry Sturgis, I was hibernating for a while. Good to see you here. Wassau, serve this man whatever he wants. Turn up the music just a bit. Someone in here may want to dance.

@ossobucotemp,
Hi Osso, There are books all around the café. Wassau's favorite is Son of the Circus. Have you read it?

If I wasn't living in NYC, I wouldn't mind living on top of a mountain for the year round snow.

@Sturgis,
I've a need to divert myself to something fun, possibly every damned day. Today I'm making Limoncello, via a recipe by La Divina Cucina. Peels of five lemons, a cup of water, two cups of vodka, followed by a sugar syrup (two cups of water and one and a half of sugar, heated to blend in the sugar). Bottle, and put in freezer, or make ice cubes with it..

http://www.divinacucina.com/2013/12/gifts-from-my-kitchen-limoncello/

ah, I see on her link the numbers differ re sugar and water, but she's using whole grain alcohol. I've done the top recipe before, and it came out swell.

Meantime, I've lemon juice I can freeze for other occasions.

@ossobucotemp,
I'd like an iced hazelnut macchiato, Wassau - with a dollop of cream on top - sigh - (note to self - forget the calories for one day and enjoy) - is that possible at such short notice?

@vonny,
I forgot to say that I'd slip a small bottle of limoncello into the Coffee house freezer.

@ossobucotemp,
Long before I ever tasted limoncello, a concoction to sip, I'd heard of some episode - tv? film? - with Danny diVito and some other guy getting drunk on limoncello. What a horrible idea!
I'll see if I can find the link.
