@blatham,
We're having above average temperatures for the time of year - hurrah! Perhaps Wassau will be good enough to pour me a long cool glass of something iced and delicious - any suggestions?

@vonny,
Get the young lady a carrot juice! If she's afraid of it, I'll gladly take it for myself. Otherwise, a black coffee and a little hummus would be nice to go with these raw veggies I've got in front of me.

@Sturgis,
I make my own hummus (I'm cheap); I make it, I dunno, once every couple or three months, using a bag of dried garbanzo (ceci) beans in a slowcooker, and my favorite spices after time goes by, adding tahini, etc., to the later mashed beans and storing the hummus in leftover ricotta cartons in the freezer.

I swear I'm a happier person since I started doing that..
Wonderful on your favorite toast..
I'll stuff a few cartons (tell me the spices you like) in the Coffee House freezer.

@ossobucotemp,
I've made my own hummus several times. My recipe: canned garbanzos, whipped in my blend-tec, with some olive oil and tahini.

Do you make your own tahini, osso?

@Ticomaya,
No, as I barely know anything about it.

I had a roundabout at the store, as one of the store persons I asked re where to find tahini led me to a to a jar she then found as worrysome. It ended up with the store guy in charge giving me a $9.00 bottle of better tahini for 59 cents, and I hadn't asked.
Good manager.

Geeze, I miss John Brooks Market.

@ossobucotemp,
I'm an anchovie fan, even the tins, but I remember fresh ones at Santa Monica Sea Food. Now they are big purvers, major, but back in my time there, just a good place to get good fish. Schniff, weeping.

@blatham,
no snow here, just a couple of days of cold, windy weather. It will be warmish soon enough. Don't mention anchovies to Bernie. They don't agree with him.

@Lola,
I quit using Worcestershire sauce cuz I found it had ground up anchovies in there.

Mushroom ravioli with spices and goat cheese, tomatoes with lemon juice and salt, toast and a nice glass of Kim Crawford.
