@vonny,
I had to look up what a "first-footer" is, I've never heard the term before.
Quote:In Scottish and Northern English folklore, the first-foot, also known in Manx Gaelic as quaaltagh or qualtagh, is the first person to enter the household of a home on New Year's Day and a bringer of good fortune for the coming year.
The first-foot usually brings several gifts, including perhaps a coin (silver is considered good luck), bread, salt, coal, or a drink (usually whisky), which respectively represent financial prosperity, food, flavour, warmth, and good cheer.
Well, I guess that makes me the first-footer in our café in the New Year.
I brought the gifts you pointed out I need
I'll add a U.S. silver dollar coin to the other traditional gifts in the picture, to bring everyone good luck and prosperity in the New Year.
And, just to insure a sweet year, I'll bring some Baklava for everyone.
I hope that I've performed my first-footer duties well, and that 'I've assured everyone here good fortune in the New Year.
Happy New Year, everyone!
