@Berty McJock,
something you eat when you've been drinking.

my help used to do them for breakfast, claiming they cured hangovers...

is shetland burger horse?

or like shepherds pie?

sorry i'm still doing horsebeef jokes Razz

so, when i thought "sliders" meant "mini" burgers, i couldn't help but use shetland ponies as a horsebeef scandal ananlogy.

i should learn when to stop innit Razz

i nderstand now...over here, it's kebabs, in particular doner kebab. i prefer a fried breakfast from the all night cafe though. where i live they do the "gutbuster", a huuuuge portion. whats-his-chops off of man vs. food should stop in for one.

mind you, i say huuuge...that's by uk standards.
probably just a starter across the pond Razz

@ehBeth,
Wassau, what's wrong with you? Take the mp3 player. World music would be nice and educative besides.

Thanks for the offer Beth. Wassau sometimes gets stuck in the past.

@Berty McJock,
A mini burger, yes. And very tasty. Wassau........can you or Tad fix up a bunch of sliders for me and my friends? onion, pickle and for me lots of mustard on the side.......and not that fancy kind with too much horseradish, I want good ole yellow mustard, straight from the squirt bottle, French's if you please.

Thanks for the music Berty. It was very nice and conducive to the pleasant atmosphere around here. While I must admit that I agree with Pete Seger, "Give me that old time rock and roll" a change of pace is refreshing and necessary if we are to appreciate our preferences eventually.

@spendius,
Those Birds of Paradise hens have nothing on that.

I suppose Darwinians appreciate them though.

You are supposed to laugh you know Jock. Cruder versions will be underway at this very moment up and down the land.

I'm making some strange pot stickers, guaranteed to be odd.
I'm using leftover bao dough (I got nice and tired of the taste of char siu bao (pork) and just stopped). The dough is a tad weary relative to making fluffy baos but still good for making pot stickers. Maybe a little balloon-ey.

I have chopped garlic, slight amount of diced red onion, some fresh cut and minced ginger, some chopped water chestnuts, no sherry but a tad of vodka, and a tin of smoked kippers, drained. I'm riffing off of a recipe that involves ahi tuna of sushi quality. Well, hey. Too bad I don't have any ham lying around. Do have some genoa salami, but am reluctant to add it.

I'll figure out some dipping sauce (fish sauce, hot sesame oil, soy sauce? what else?) if the pot stickers are edible.

If for some odd reason these taste ok, I'll give the recipe to Wassau. Tad is way too young.

@ehBeth,
Thank you very much Beth. And I got an RealPlayer update in the bargain. Good music. The stores in the Village are full of good stuff like that. So the cafe fits right into it's surroundings. Sorry Spendi didn't like it, but well......he's not easy to please.
