The nostalgia of library books...
http://lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/06/17/discarded-books-recovered-nostalgia/?hp

That does bring back memories. I was always an avid user of my public library--I got my first library card when I was only 4 (I had to learn to write my name to get it). Even now, I'd rather take a book out of the library than buy one, if it's not a book I really want to keep--otherwise I'd be too overrun with books in the house. For a while though, I was buying discard books from the library, generally novels I wanted to read, because they were so cheap (like 25 cents, or 5 for $1), so I did accumulate quite a large stack of those before I managed to contain myself.

I don't own an e-reader--yet-- and I'm not sure I really want one. I like books--the physicality of a book. And that article made me want to pay a visit to my library. I haven't been there in a while, probably because being on the internet takes up a lot of time I used to spend reading. Gotta go back to reading more.

Hmmm...thinking of Found Soul and her trip to Thailand.

Wassau, do you still make that wonderful Thai shrimp salad? (Wassau smiles and nods). Could you please bring me some. That may be as close as I ever get to Thailand, but I can dream.

It is really a gorgeous day. My Thai shrimp salad was delicious, Wassau, and now I think I'd like to enjoy some iced tea out on the patio in the sunshine. I'm just going to relax and enjoy listening to Harry Connick Jr.'s new album out there.

Oh, it really is lovely sitting out here today. Lots of other people are taking advantage of the great weather.

@firefly,
That's quite a photo. Brought to mind Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party.

me too, I started going to libraries very young and belive they were a great teaching aid in my life. You have to be quiet and reserved in a library, training one to have great restraint.

Just let me grab a big floppy hat and a pair of sunglasses, and I'll join you, if I may. Far too nice to stay indoors!

It doesn't to mine. The ladies are all wrong. I would love to have been on Renoir's boat rather than in the tourist clip joint.

And there's no tree in the former.

Of the two versions of Washup which one do you like best.

Now there's a test girls.

Don't go to Merion Bill. It'll be a two day job.

Strange. I spend more time in the public library here than I ever did while living on the mainland. Yet I probably take out less library books than I ever did before. Simple explanation -- the library here offers free wi-fi connection; it's mostly where I do my A2k-ing on my laptop.

@Lustig Andrei,
I had run of the mill as you know, Andy. Head Pecksniff, with my own box of tissues, which was really something to sneeze at, though some may doubt it.
