I asked Wassau to heat up some simit and bring out unsalted butter ... and now the Silver Shred is missing.

Rocky - have you got the Silver Shred?

We need it before the simit cool down.

The Silver Shred most likely ran off with the Golden Retriever.

But the salt-free butter is much appreciated. My cardiologist also thanks you. Dr. Matsuura doesn't even want me to put shoi-yu (that's soy sauce to you) on my rice any more. Gomen nasai, sez he, but we'd like to have you around and paying your bills for a few more years.

But I'll have summat of the simit.

@firefly,
My library, the most local one, is not very well stocked besides being too far away. Too hot for me to walk, most of the year, at a time when I'm awake and have had sufficient coffee. The central Albuquerque library is quite wonderful from my short experiences, before I moved here and a few times since, but way too far away. Sigh.

Favorite library? Hard to say, I've loved quite a few. But.. the now-gone Evanston Public Library (I've seen the new one, slick, but I liked the old).
I remember my mother taking me to see documentaries there some evenings, back when I was nine or so.

Take hold of yourself, Andy. The horse's name is Rosinante. And it's the Quixotic Kid, not Crisco. Anyway, the horse isn't missing. He's shacked up with a couple of Galician mares.

@Lustig Andrei,
Oops, 'umble apologies, Andy. I meant to say "shackled up." Why the "L" it was left out, I don't know, unless my freudulent slip was showing.

@Lustig Andrei,
Silver Shred and Golden Shred, but give me Roses Lime Marmalade any time! So delicious on hot buttered toast!

I have fifteen minutes before the bus comes unless it arrives when scheduled which is fifteen minutes ago. A nap would be a good thing right about now, but I just had two cups of coffee, so it's only going to five minutes before I have to excuse myself to the Men's and that would interrupt the snoozing.
Did you see the front page of the paper?
Neither did I.

@Debacle,
I'm getting all mixed up here re: the horses. Raisin's Aunt was Don Coyote's steed? Wot about that Silver Thread? Didn't the Lone Stranger claim ownership to that?

My being all mixed up (re:horses or anything else) is nothing new, of course. But I still insist that the Cisco Kid rode like the devil aboard Diablo. And his sidekick, Paunchy, was as loco as they come.

@Lustig Andrei,
They hd a Leo Carillo beltbuckle on the Antiques Rodashow lt night. The thing was appraised at 15 K.
As I recall from my kid days, Carillo was a little fat **** so his belt was say a 44. That's about 300 bucks an inch
