@izzythepush,
I'd recognise him anywhere - Grey's Monument - meeting place of millions! Used to be able to go up inside, endless steps, can't you do that now?

@farmerman,
If you run out of cannolis there's always brandy snaps.

@vonny,
They used to sell them in Scarborough, where all the Geordies go for their holidays, in the waffle stand on the North beach.

I tried making them one, they're bloody tricky, you've only got a limited amount of time to roll them when they're still pliable.

Black coffee, buttered toast and a hard boiled egg, please.
Do they still sell snails, the things that look a lot like cinnamon rolls? I haven't thought about them for years.

@izzythepush,
those barndy snaps look good, whats in them? is the cream filling local thing?
Cannolis are filled with a ricotta cheese based creme so they arent overly sweet.

@vonny,
I'm so glad you were surprised, Vonny. Wassau really outdid himself.

I shall thoroughly enjoy this birthday now - might even have something a little stronger than tea today!

Is it too early for champagne?

Well, before we run out, I'll have a cannoli, and a brandy snap. Smile

I've heard calories don't count on a birthday. Or is that only on your own birthday? Rolling Eyes What the hell, who cares, l love cannoli and I've never had a brandy snap. Carpe diem!
