My cousin and I were introduced to gin martinis by her father, my uncle Paul. Both of us hated them and put the glasses down. I remember the scene in their kitchen. We were in our early twenties, let's say 22.

She became a non alcoholic teetotaler and I became a woman who drinks too much sometimes. I think I'm happier, but I don't keep charts on all that.

My ceremony was to sticj a bottle of Tangueray into the freezer and then pour a healthy shot into a glass of crushed ice and then if strain the booze into a strait sided glass into which Id dump an olive and , my last would have been a pearl onion.

OOH OOH, I remember one drink I cooked up while I was still drinking. It was Dram Bowie, cream and cream soda on shaved ice. It was a "Rusty Nail Shake".

Oh, ehBeth, thank you! This was an inspired choice.

But, hold the martinis. I always preferred Vodka martinis to the Gin, but I don't want anything to interfere with the great taste of this smoked salmon bagel.

I'm starved. And knocked out from playing with my puppy. He's a real little dynamo--4lbs of sheer energy. He just loves running around and playing with all his toys. And I think I'm his biggest toy. Laughing

Thank goodness he's finally napping so I can eat.

I will fight anybody for some of the smoked salmon on bagel with cream cheese...except Beth.

Ever since she tried to take a bite out of a New York City cop...I've always been wary! Thank god there was a nearby place with pulled pork sandwiches...or A2K coulda been missing some people.
