My mechanic owns his own fab shop. I think about him all the time. Today I brought him a gift basket with home made treats and a card saying thanks and if ya ever want a beer give me a call. How long should I wait for a call or should I wait? I was thinking about giving him a call and asking if he's working late and asking if he can stay late cause I wanna talk. Maybe show up after my workoutin tight clothes and walk in, say hi I can't get you out of my mind then kiss him and see where it goes from there. Bad or good idea? Any suggestions?

You sort of asked him out on a date today by way of the card in the gift basket. If you haven't heard from him by the end of the week, he's either too shy or not interested.
My experience suggests that kissing a shy guy that you don't have a social relationship with is a bad idea.

I feel like I was vague in the card. Like in a round about way asked him out but to where it could be taken several ways. :/

Sending him a gift basket alone is not vague. Adding an invite for a drink is saying it outright.
I will say that I personally am an advocate of being straightforward with my interest. If the kiss doesn't work out, there's plenty of other places to take your car.

you might want to start looking for a new mechanic now
the whole random kissing a guy who hasn't expressed an interest - it's a bit Harlequin Romance to me (I like an occasional romance novel - just have to remember they're fiction)
