@edgarblythe,
Yeah. It was a split-screen thing thing with one screen showing people on fire and the other of people bored to tears with constant harp music and no sex.

@blatham,
I don't know what you two are talking about. I never made it past Genesis, and that was when I was very religious, probably eleven. Even then I had little patience.

@ossobuco,
Of course you don't have patience. It is a virtue that makes no appearance in Genesis. You have to get to Exodus for patience.

The Bible may be a piece of ****...and filled with gross, gratuitous violence...but it still is the best selling book of all time.

Personally I think it is highly over-rated as prose and poetry...and as a source of knowledge it is a joke...

...but it still is the best selling book of all time.

It is found in libraries and book stores filed under Religion and Philosophy.

@Frank Apisa,
Such a concept, applied to anything, is novel to me. Allow me, please, time to ponder.

@Frank Apisa,
...and yet, ... not under comic books?

Wasn't there some passage in it about Moses tieing his ass to a tree and walking for miles?

Well be careful. "Grasping it" usually leads to gratuitous sex.

That reminds me of Arthur Conan Doyle's clumsy language in some of the Sherlock Holmes stories. He has Watson saying, "I was awakened by a sudden ejaculation."

@edgarblythe,
I wouldn't bother Edgar, to call it implausible would be the understatement of the century, although as Frank said it's OK for those that like lighthearted bumfluff

@farmerman,
It's your thread, fm, so it's your call. But I do get amused when somebody drops the word 'bible' completely out of context and half a dozen people rush in to help trash the book, regardless of what the topic f the thread might be. Makes for a fine afternoon chuckle.
