@OmSigDAVID,
He "owns" very little of the real estate that bears his name, it's all mortgaged to the hilt. He's mostly a front man and is paid in a percentage of profit for the use of his brand. Maybe his daughter can sell her shoe collection and his Mini-me son can sell the taxidermy corpses of rare animals he's killed in Africa, that would probably add up to a few million.

@Green Witch,
Trump CARES about his image.
Its not at all likely that he 'd put himself in peril of disgrace
for the rest of his life, by defaulting so publicly. He 'd have to live with the consequences.

If he DID that,
he 'd become an object lesson to whom parents of the future 'd point
as what not to do. That 's my opinion.

Do U believe that he 'd put himself in that jeopardy GW ?

@OmSigDAVID,
Trump doesn't give a damn about his "image". If he did he wouldn't have trotted out the birther crap he did.

@parados,
He would also get a better hair piece, no one takes Trump seriously. Although that's not to say people won't be trying to get that money and they may even succeed. Big whoop if they do in my opinion.

@revelette,
If it's $5 mil for Obama's college records, I will gladly provide mine for $4 mil.

This is a bidding war, right?

What Obama had to say about this challenge from Trump:
Quote:
"This all dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya."

@jespah,
Actually, I confess I didn't read the heading or any article and didn't catch it on the news. I really have no interest in Trump. For some reason I just assumed Trump was offerring 5 million to anybody out there if they can find Obama's college records.

Quote:
Was Donald Trump's Announcement A Gigantic, Pointless Waste Of Time Promulgated By A Venal Con Artist?

Yes. If you'd prefer to not click the link there and watch his YouTube, here's the summary: Mitt Romney campaign surrogate Donald Trump will give $5 million to a charity of President Barack Obama's choosing if he provides Trump his college transcripts and passport records by Halloween. Since this is not going to happen, that means that inner-city kids with cancer and AIDS will suffer, or something. Basically, Donald Trump, having gotten nowhere in proving any of the innately stupid conspiracy theories he's promulgated about Obama, now wants Obama to help him.

The title of this thread continues to make me laugh.

I still can't tell if "trump" is a noun or a verb (it works either way).

That is a non-sequitur, Mr. Parados.

@OmSigDAVID,
I guess they won't get it if Trump isn't willing to pay $5 million to them.

Do you always put such silly restrictions on your charitable giving?

Thay woud if Obama ACCEPTED the deal.
Its not hard.

Trump cares; I don't.

I have been more inclined to drop cash
from hot air balloons, when I wanna.

@OmSigDAVID,
I won't give money to charity unless you take your clothes off in the middle of Times Square and scream at the top of your lungs, "I am an ignorant ****".

That isn't really being charitable if I put requirements on my charity, is it? Trump is putting outside requirements on his charity so he isn't being charitable. He is being an ass.

Or can I accuse you of preventing charities from getting my money because you won't do what I asked?

Like I said b4: "I don't care." Trump cares.

Please note that Trump never said,
nor did he IMPLY that he is a charitable man.
I don't consider myself to be a charitable man;
I 'm into hedonism, not charity. Giving away cash
to un-expecting targets of my choice can be a lot of FUN.

The Donald was clear, in his video:
he wants the records; he does not want to donate
to Obama's charities, but he'll donate anyway,
IF Obama comes up with the records.
Its a very simple, judicially enforcible unilateral contract.

parados wrote:

SO WHAT??
That 's not the point.
Trump is not trying to PROVE THAT HE'S CHARITABLE.
Trump is trying to get the records; that 's not the same thing.

parados wrote:

No one alleges
that Trump is being charitable; certainly not Trump.

parados wrote:

I 'm not a big fan of Trump; never was,
but sometimes, he can be a lot of fun!

Anyone can accuse anyone of anything; yes.

@OmSigDAVID,
I wonder if Obama would trade these documents for Mitt Romney's tax returns.

That would be fun.
