Well, I was telling lightwizard that I watched Blown Away for the third time. Just as exciting as the first time that I watched it, and Jeff and Lloyd Bridges were great as was Tommy Lee Jones.

I watched "Hard Times" last night. The one with Charles Bronson, James Coburn, and Strother Martin. Hell of a movie.

Speaking of Tommy Lee and Harrison, I can watch "The Fugitive" over and over. Chicago is lovingly shot, in all it's architectural glory and being far away from home, it'll do.

I just put the original on my DVR to watch later. While not as good as the original, I did like the reamake.

Have "Harold and Kumar" on my NetFlix queue and, no, you're not any more weird liking "Serial Mom" than if you like "Harold and Maude," although the later is a better movie.

I liked the style of the Thomas Crown remake much more than the original. The level of sophistication was superb. The original was nice, in that respect, and Faye Dunaway was the epitome of fashion for sure but the new one is just so slick and has such a sharp eye for the elegant details of "living very well", as Rene Russo put it. I just like the way this movie looks.

Production design has become almost a high art even in the lowliest of movies. I find that often the look of a movie surpasses the substance of the movie by miles.

I know. Do you ever watch a movie and get so sidetracked by the sets that you lose track of the movie? Kevin Costner's "Message in a Bottle" was only okay but the decor in his house on the water was fabulous. "As Good As It Gets" was just so-so, IMO, but seeing the decor in Diane Keaton's house was worth the price of admission. She always has great living spaces in her movies. In "The First Wives Club" her kitchen was wonderful.

LOTR Return of the King Extended version
We finally broke down and bought one in Australia...we were holding out for a North American version Razz
Now we can give the other two a rest Wink
What can I say? My husband is a LOTR geek. We played LOTR trivial pursuit last night; I do NOT present a challenge to him Wink

"Three Men and a Baby." I know, I know, but I thought it was an adorable movie and watched it over and over when I first taped it many years ago.
It's on Turner South now. It's so '80's but it's still very cute.

Although not a real theater movie, Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove was a really well done 4 part miniseries that we bought a number of years ago and , we played itthis weekend. Its good for the great character development and use of total, unexpected, almost "extraterrestrial" violence, coupled with comedy and tenderness.

Thats gonna go down as one of the great TV miniseries, in my book.
