Yes, the word "date" has become a tad demeaned here in Oz. Roy and HG have much to answer for.

oh dearLowan - that lawyer was very interesting. Intelligent, amusing, a good debater (well, d'oh) and a good appetite. Tall and rather trim, the only one who had thirds at Christmas dinner - he took his plate out to the kitchen for a refill after the hosts had cleared the table. Gotta like that.

Bagels must be buttered, unless there is real cream cheese. However, good fresh cream cheese seems to be a rarity in many places, so sweet butter is the answer for a good chewy bagel.
