A hotdog on a bagel? Really?

<I fear ehBeth may have directly passed out and her thud softened by a soft bank of snow.>

Florida doesn't know what a bagel IS.
There is nothing even roughly the
equivalent of a bagel from up north.
Yes I am a Yankee and when it comes
to bagels ... who else would know
what that is? I remember a part
of Pittsburgh PA called Squirrel
Hill - they had a place called Bagel
World..... every kind of bagel known Laughing
to man...right there. If only you
could get them shipped to you in
12 hours or less...they get stale so
fast. And GOOD cream cheese - is
so way way better than any butter,
I don't care how rich your cow is,
cream cheese is the tops!!
Lox, now that is another topic
altogether. Rolling Eyes

Actually, there is such a thing as a bagel dog -- i.e. a hot dog wrapped in bagel dough and baked in the oven. It's not very good but it does exist.

'Deli France' do this thing with a hot dog and cheese inside a croissant!!! It doesn't even RESEMBLE something edible, and I could see the fat-counter going into the red zone. I just make the sign of the evil eye and keep moving.

Is the sign of the evil eye in Australia the same as in the northern hemisphere? Just wondered if it was affected by the Coriolus Effect.

"Deli France"? Please keep that one down there. Sounds like a breakfast a Scotsman would eat. (My apologies to the Scots out there; just a wee friendly joke from someone who's grandmothers maiden name was MacKenzie...)

And they say the Scots don't have a sense of humor/humour! Why are you picking on the Scots this morning?

We have something in the frozen food section of Costco called Bageldogs, but I look at them with alarm and have never brought any home. Possibly if I gave them the sign of the evil eye they'd quit carrying them? I have bought for teenage consumption, somthing called Aussie Pies. Chicken potpies that can be carried around. I wonder? Are these authentically Aussie? They're not very good!

I've seen the Aussie pies. Haven't dared try the Aussie pies. In my eyes it is not wise when one tries the Aussie pies.

For some reason I've got it in my head that modern-day Scots eat heinously unhealthful things for breakfast. I'm not sure where this came from, though. I suspect it may have come from an Irvine Welsh novel, in which case it should be taken with a grain of salt, a meat roll, and a canned cream ale...
