@joefromchicago,
The location is described as 'Loyola Water Tower In-Line' whatever that means.

@JPB,
Well, it's a classroom/dormitory building, so maybe it's part of the student cafeteria.

Massachusetts was the first state to take arms in the cause of liberty. Massachusetts was the first state to expand freedom of marriage for our gay citizens. Massachusetts supports Tommy Menino. We voted him in, we ain't voting him out. That's democracy for you. Stuff it in your ear.

It’s a different matter if he attempts to trample the free speech rights of others by using the power of his office to fight against a business license for Chick-fil-A. Menino suggested that it would be appropriate to block the chain from opening in Boston because Cathy’s views amount to discrimination. That would rightly apply if Chick-fil-A were to refuse service to gay customers; the city has a right and an obligation to prevent discriminatory actions against its residents and visitors. But there’s no evidence that any such thing has occurred.

Menino referred derisively to Chick-fil-A’s possible plans to open a restaurant along the city’s Freedom Trail, considering Cathy’s stand on marriage freedom. That too misreads law and history. It was the freedom to express politically unpopular views and to oppose such views that the Founding Fathers fought to establish. Boston used to be known as the prudish place most likely to ban anything outside of a set of strait-laced moral beliefs. Without freedom to express once unpopular viewpoints — in this case, full civil rights for gay and lesbian couples — Massachusetts wouldn’t have become the first state to recognize same-sex marriage.

Boston is currently known for being racist and corrupt...perhaps they should not pat themselves too much on the back for their Mayors determination to discriminate against a law abiding fast food chain. Abuse of power damns all who remain silent as it takes place.

If the people of Boston want to outlaw Chick-fil-a then they need to write a law that does so.....in the unlikely event that they can do so without violating anti discrimination laws.

nah, they can just do it in one of the myriad of ways that communities have kept out McDonalds and Walmart and other businesses they don't want

in my area, there have just been 2 successful campaigns to keep Home Depot out - another neighbourhood has done great work at keeping Starbucks and Tim Hortons out

a smart politician knows what their electorate wants/doesn't want

@MontereyJack,
You are joking aren't you? In regard to Mass being corrupt 30 years ago - please refer to the list below of recent politicians convicted of crimes -

Massachusetts State Senator Anthony Gallucio (D) was given one year in prison after failing a sobriety test and violating his probation from a previous hit and run accident. (2010)

Massachusetts Speaker of the House Salvatore DiMasi (D) was found guilty of using his position to secure multimillion-dollar state contracts for a software company in exchange for kickbacks. (2011)

Boston Councillor Chuck Turner (D) was expelled from the Boston City Council on December 1, 2010 following his conviction on federal bribery charges.

Massachusetts Speaker of the House Thomas Finneran (D) pled guilty to one count of obstruction of justice and received 18 months probation. (2004)

Massachusetts State Senator Dianne Wilkerson (D-MA) was video taped by the FBI stuffing bribe money into her bra. Charged with tax evasion (1997), ethics violations (2001) and perjury (2005). Wilkerson pled guilty to eight counts of attempted extortion.

Massachusetts Speaker of the House Charles Flaherty (D-MA) pled guilty to felony tax evasion for submitting false receipts regarding his business expenses and to violations of the state conflict of interests law(1996)

Massachusetts state representative Nicholas Mavroules (D-MA) pleaded guilty to bribery charges.

And thats going back only 20 years - and forget about those that weren't convicted.

Now this one really craks me up. This is Mr. "I'm not your research assistant," Mr. "I'm zen," the king of fact free rants. He never, and i mean never, backs up his bullshit. When he does provide links, they son't substantiate what he says, and often evern contradicts them. The only one who ever gets shaken up in a debate with this clown is him.

Yep, we're pretty much run of the pack as far as corrupt politicians go, except that we tend to find them out and throw them in the can for a few years, as opposed to other states who find out, harumph a bit, and carry on with business as usual.

Evangelist Billy Graham defends Chick-fil-A! Talk about moral worthiness, does he even know the meaning of the word?

Billy Graham, the dean of American evangelists, has once again broken his usual silence on hot-button issues, defending the president of the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain for his opposition to same-sex marriage days after issuing a letter decrying what he sees as the nation's moral decay.
