@Cycloptichorn,
From that article,
Quote:
In addition to those SEC reports, other corporate documents obtained by the AP show Romney's personal signature at least 10 times on large stock transactions or ownership statements tied to Bain investment deals at the time. Those documents include Romney's signature on federal stock forms approving the sales of large stakes in circuit board manufacturer DDi Corp. The company went into bankruptcy in 2003.

Quote:
Romney did not have "any active role with any Bain Capital entity" after 1999. In 2011, that explanation broadened, saying Romney had also "not been involved in the operations of any Bain Capital entity in any way."

He claims he had no activity with Bain Capital?

How many stupid people out there still believes in Romney?

Maybe selling large shares of stocks and being CEO means he was inactive. They've twisted other truths into pretzels.

WILLIAMS: "On things however like Aurora, Colorado, do you see why Americans get frustrated at politics. They can see and hear your words from earlier in their career, people are hurting out there. Perhaps they want to start a national conversation about whether an AR-15 belongs in the hands of a citizen, whether a citizen should be able to buy 6-thousand rounds off the internet. You see the argument?"

ROMNEY: "Well this person shouldn't have had any kind of weapons and bombs and other devices and it was illegal for him to have many of those things already. But he had them. And so we can sometimes hope that just changing the law will make all bad things go away. It won't. Changing the heart of the American people may well be what's essential, to improve the lots of the American people."

‘D’ Is For Diplomacy (The Note)

THE NOTE ON THE ROAD: Good morning from London where Mitt Romney is on the second day of his seven-day, three-country foreign trip. On his agenda: a round of meetings with British officials, including Prime Minister David Cameron and former Prime Minister Tony Blair. Later tonight, Romney attends a high-dollar fundraiser in London with a group of deep-pocketed American bankers. Here are the local headlines the Republican presidential candidate woke up to: “Mitt Romney casts doubt on London 2012 preparations” (The Times of London) and “Mitt Romney questions whether Britain is ready for Games” (The Daily Telegraph). Both British papers picked up on Romney’s assertion in an interview with NBC’s Brian Williams yesterday that the last-minute security issues surrounding the Olympic Games were “disconcerting.” Romney told Williams, “It’s hard to know just how well it … will turn out. There are a few things that were disconcerting — the stories about the private security firm not having enough people, the supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials — that obviously is not something which is encouraging.”

Quote:
ON SECOND THOUGHT: Appearing alongside Britain’s Labour Party leader Ed Miliband this morning in London, Romney was singing a somewhat different tune about the Olympic issues: “My experience with regards to the Olympics is it is impossible for absolutely no mistakes to occur,” Romney said. “Of course there will be errors from time to time, but those are all overshadowed by the extraordinary demonstrations of courage, character and determination by the athletes. The games are, after all, about the athletes, the volunteers and the people of the community that come together to celebrate those athletes. They are not about the Organizing Committee. And as soon as the sporting events begin, we all forget the organizers and focus on the athletes.

Prime minister slams Salt Lake in response to Romney critique

Cameron didn't appreciate the comments from the Republican presidential candidate and said he planned to present a positive message when he met with Romney later on Wednesday.

“This is a time of some economic difficulty for the UK but look at what we are capable of achieving as nation even at a difficult economic time," Cameron said, according to The Telegraph of London. "We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere."

I'd be more impressed if you broke it down by electoral college votes.

@McGentrix,
Yup, it's pretty close, and has been for a while.

Obama's still got a pretty handsome lead in the swing states he needs to win, however. Obama is leading in, per RCP, Iowa, Florida, Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, Nevada, and Colorado. He only needs to win a couple of those states in order to win the whole taco. That's not a bad position to be in.

@McGentrix,
Not that one point makes much difference if any at all, but RealclearPolitics which includes the gallap poll has Obama at 46.4 and Romney at 45.1. After the "you didn't build that" comment, at least Obama seems to be holding his own, but then so is Romney after all that Bain stuff.

RCP

The electoral map has Obama at 231 and Romney at 181.

@Cycloptichorn,
What most polls are missing are how most minorities, women, and the young will vote in November.

Most are upset that our economy is not doing better, but that's because when one is out of work and can't find one, they blame the president - which is wrong-headed in every way. On the same token, most Americans blame this continued recession on GW Bush without considering the simple fact that all economies are now hurting to some degree; as a hangover from the Great Recession.

When the European Union as an economy is hurting, it's unrealistic to think the US can create jobs when demand for all products and services are not increasing. To blame Obama is not only unrealistic, but ignorance at its worst.

Those who believe Romney can create jobs are placing their hopes on a liar who hasn't offered any detailed solution on anything.

But then, there's no cure.....

@Irishk,
The point is that he is so out of touch with people that he insults people right and left all the time which means he would not be able to sympathize with most of the American people let alone people in other countries. Also his advisors made such a big deal of his "Anglo Saxon Heritage thing" that is kinda ironic to see him flub up so badly in London.

Mitt Romney's very, very bad day

@revelette,
Let's all be honest, here. "Anglo-Saxon heritage" is just code for "I'm white and Obama's black."

Meanwhile, after Romney's poor showing, the message of "Obama sucks at foreign relations" has morphed into "we don't care what people think outside of the US."

The thing is, though, that Romney was right -- the security lapses at the Olympic games are disconcerting. The British press that is excoriating Romney is, at the same time, busy printing stories about those same security lapses.
