Yikes, how could we have forgotten the Piff? Wah, why can't she come? What about seattlefriend? What about Peace and Love?

I read the following fashion advice on another site. It makes for good reading (and what the hell do you care if gaudy earrings aren't in style? I have my share that I plan on bringing.)

Fashion Advice
============

These do NOT go together:

1. A nose ring and bifocals

2. Spiked hair and bald spots

3. A pierced tongue and dentures

4. Miniskirts and support hose

5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads

6. Speedo's and cellulite

7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar

8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor

9. Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge

10. Bikinis and liver spots

11. Short shorts and varicose veins

12. In-line skates and a walker

Please keep these basic guidelines foremost in your mind when you
shop.----

Walter, Dys and I are definitely coming to Europe, hopefully next fall. You are one of the people we would most love to see. I also have a friend in Vienna and, of course, the London crew.

We wouldn't dream of missing out on a chance to meet our European friends.

Since I (we) have friends in London and relatives in Vienna, fly there (especially London) not too seldom ...

Give us a date nice and early so we can all come, a Weinfest in Germany - not a Goldener Oktober wine, I trust, but a golden autumn nonetheless

Hi Walter and Everybody, I'm back! Landed in San Francisco less than three hours ago, and I'm already posting on A2K. Wonder what that tells me - and everybody else? LOL Japan was fantastic. Will try to print out some pictures to share in San Francisco this weekend. BTW, count me in on the Europe Gathering. Wink Must go back and read several pages to catch up. c.i.

I know I speak for everybody when I say "Thank You, osso., for all your hard work." I'm just gonna sit by the side lines and let you all pick the restaurants. Wink I'm also happy to see that LW, Semiotterly, and jjorge's bro and sister-in-law are joining us. * Did I miss any one? As for margo, she's welcome to join us in San Francisco to scare the bejeezus out of all of us tinder ones.

Could feel the excitement building..... BTW, when is the arrival schedule for all of you? I didn't keep track, so it'll help if you can post your arrival date and time - just in case a smaller group can get together earlier than the Friday 6PM meet at the King George lobby.

Great news about Sunday dinner! Solea can accommodate us in their Wine Room, which will should be marvelous for conversation. Our reservation is for a dozen, Sunday evening the 11th, at 6 p.m.

We'll be arriving at Oakland at 12:30, BARTing it around to the stop closest to the KG, so I figure about 2 p.m. They may not be able to check us in until 3, and in any event we'll be ready for a bite, so we'll prowl around stalking lunch, then maybe rest a bit (our departure from Houston is 6:30 a.m. and we don't intend to be pooped out at dinner).

Here we go again with the itinerary so far (tweaks appreciated):

Friday 4-8 pm: Gathering at King George lobby
Friday 8:30: Dinner at Piperade

Saturday b'fast/brunch: ??? (perhaps a bite in the KG coffee shop or other fast, light, and cheap)
Saturday am: Farmers' Market Sat. pm: Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito
(osso's suggestion: Farmer's Market earlyish, gallery or two on Geary or Sutter, say around ten or eleven, Niebaum Coppola's wine/cafe for lunch/wine/snack, sip and talk a lot, see City Lights. There until 1-ish, then to bridge/Sausalito to 4 pm? get back to hotels at 6, to prepare for...)
Saturday 8:30: Dinner at 500 Jackson (seafood)

Sunday B'fast/brunch: St Francis (downscale) or Sheraton Palm Court (upscale)
Sunday am: Flower Conservatory and Tea Garden (lunch)
Sunday pm: ??? (activity still TBD, each on our own or could leave open for free-for-all gathering/conversation; by this time we will settled on a suitable venue)
Sunday 6:00: Dinner at Solea (California cuisine)

Yes. I am happy about Solea. We need to get some confirmations, haven't heard from Glight lately, or George Ob and another friend re making it.

I can conceivably drum up one or two friends, but maybe not at this late date. (this as to addressing the number twelve.)

Thank you, PDid!

I think my times for Saturday are optimistic, but there is room for error.

Lunch on Sunday? who knows, maybe we don't have lunch, we have a good breakfast or brunch and then just the odd apple, or such, until our good early dinner. (Apples, we can pick them up on Saturday morning at the Street market...)

Gaudy earrings are SO in!

I've had my eye out for a perfect pair of chandelier earrings for a while now.

Sounds great guys, looking forward to updates and stories!

On meeting earlier, I think maybe not. We need some personal time, after all.

On the other hand, CI, maybe you could meet me at my hotel and walk with me to the King George. Say, at 5pm, we could check out if we like my hotel for potential get-togethers, and look around the neighborhood a little bit.

I will be leaving on Sunday afternoon. So I'll miss the Sunday night dinner. I wish I didn't have to, but I do. I'm arriving on Thursday at 4:20. I'll have a car pick me up to the hotel. No rental cars, although, I do have one reserved, just in case. Anyone else around at that time?

Welcome back c.i. Can't wait to hear about your trip!

Thanks Osso and PDid for all your work on the restaurants.

This will be an exchange-athon and then at some point we'll just talk. The exchangeathon part, it is very important to me; I already appreciate y'all for your ability to express your opinions.
