How Long Have You Been On A2K?

I was on pretty good terms with High Seas, until the day I defended an a2k member when she said bad things about him. I didn't say anything ugly to her, merely said the member in question was not like that. She apparently put me on ignore. Ce la vie.

@cicerone imposter,
ci...some of the things Dys said to me were beyond insults. But it was always meant in fun. I think the insult attacks were so obvious, most of us realized they were just jokes. I'm not sure of what transpired between the two of you, but if you look back on it, I am sure the "Rickles effect" would become apparent immediately.

That kind of thing was always a part of Dys' on-line personality.

@Frank Apisa,
I now wish some of you had come forward when my exchange with bob got rather heated. I'm a "black and white" guy who doesn't see much humor in insults - even if they are in "fun." I guess, I missed the whole "point."

But, that's me. Nobody to blame.

Frank, thanks for coming forward with your observations about bob. My misunderstandings, not withstanding.

When Rog says la vie, I get a little ticked. I never liked him or his friends.

@edgarblythe,
I don't mind disagreements amongst friends (and family); those I can live with. I think I've made those points very clear from all my posts during the past decade.

Go on, rub it in!

@cicerone imposter,
I don't mean disrespect, CI. I have known you longer than most of my other friends on line. We met on Abuzz.

You said to say it. If you can't write what you mean, get an eraser. A big one.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I don't think there's any danger of our "friendship;" not one iota. We think alike on many things, and I like the fact that you're willing to share a part of your life on a2k. Most people who has read my posts over the years probably know me pretty well. Most know when I disagree or agree with their posts; I've been calling a spade a spade. If any of my post is challenged, and I find I was wrong, I usually apologize. Can't do any more than that!

Dys and I insulted each other regularly and we both loved it. Gus even started a thread about us:

@High Seas,
Yes, we all are guilty of insulting each other (except maybe sozobe) but why doesn't anyone address the issue that some passages in High Seas private messages were omitted?

Clearly, someone must have had access to her private messages in order
to do so.

I personally don't care who reads mine, there is nothing exciting to report,
but deliberately omitting passages that were sent to someone, well that does take the cake.

@CalamityJane,
first, you have to believe she is telling the truth about it.

she's kinda paranoid to the point of warp speed most of the time...

(a hamster follows her around and votes her posts down, just like it does hawkeye's)

@CalamityJane,
If that was the issue, why air all the dirty laundry?

@CalamityJane,
Sozobe doesn't insult anyone, but she does present facts and I can't say they are always appreciated.

C.J. You may not care, but there IS a larger issue here. When I first learned that the site had PMs, I rightly or wrongly assumed that those messages were available only to the two parties involved in the interaction.

If the administration of the website is privy to those messages, IMO there needs to be a caveat to that effect given to each member at the time they are permitted to post PMs.
Otherwise, the membership needs to assume that P.M.s written on A2K are available to
the administration, and act accordingly. There things that one writes in a letter, that one would not dream of writing on a postcard. (Am I dating myself? Laughing )
