@mismi,
we have a reliever problem.

and just when you think it can't get worse, a day like today comes along.

our latest test run was some record setting kid from the pale hose.

his line:

.1 innings pitched.

1 strikeout

3 walks

an ERA of 162.0 (yes, the decimal is correctly placed)

and a WHIP of 15.00

I daresay nobody will touch those numbers for a while...

@mismi,
good gravy, you may be right...

So I'm thinking, I might ought to sit a pitcher today. but I have Grienke, Lee, and Strasburg throwin'.

who do you sit?

turns out, the correct answer is D, all three...

good thing I wasn't planning to sit and enjoy baseball today.

The Highest I have ever seen was Joe Borowski bout 5 or 6 years ago when he closed for the Indians....109.0 era...Those are impressive numbers in a bad way!....Will be a long time till someone breaks them!....

So he gave up 8 earned runs in 1/3 of an inning....and his walks to hits, was and gave up 15 walks and hits for his one out! Impressive!

Will not be done again for a while!

Small World Isn't It?
This week I am matched against my long time friend, Fbaezer, from Mexico City.
Monday, my brother called and mentioned that he and his son are going to vacation in Mexico City in mid-June.
And today my employee Andy (whom some of you know as AndyClubber from the A2K football "Pick-Um" thread) noted that his band is booked for a goth music festival in mid-June in Mexico City.

In other news, Osso's catcher (Lucroy) has hit the DL because a suitcase fell on his hand and broke it as he was looking for his socks. I am not making this up.

Johan Santana has a no hitter thru 8 innings...But is at 120 or 121 pitches...Very interesting indeed what Terry Collins is gonna do...

I really hope he throws the first ever Mets no hitter, and does not get hurt...And am a huge Mets fan, from my dad, and Santana fan!!

@ossobuco,
Well good news and bad news....The bad news is he has not done it yet...But the good news, is he just batted in the bottom of the eighth, and took 5 straight pitches, and purposely struck out, so they are going for it!!!

I will be the first to say it!! Congrats Mets fans!!! it has been a long time coming!!!!

Yes, I am, and he fuckin did it!!!

Way to go Santana!!!!!! just hope he is good down the road he threw 138 pitches I think...

Sorry bout the swear just really excited!!!

And he kinda got lucky, Beltran hit a ball down the line, which clearly hit the chalk and was called foul...

But that is the way it goes sometimes!!!

As Beltran did **** with the mets!!!
