Ever look at your old stuff on here?

I found some odd things I've posted in the past. I am really peculiar. I think my oldest posts are from 2004 and my most popular had 284 answers - what do you think the title was - Bonsai kittens. Not some thought provoking question or discussion but bonsai kittens.

What does that say about me and the rest of you all to think that probably had the most answers....

@Linkat,
Hi Linkat

I have quite a few old threads hanging around. Wink

But you know, I find the number "views" to threads a more accurate indicator of interest than the number of posts..
To me, lots of "views" suggest lots of interest in a good conversation going on.

@msolga,
165,942 views - pretty good for a post about something as crazy as bonsai kittens. Perhaps one of my best creations.

@Linkat,
I seem to recall railing about the notion of bonsai kittens on it, Linkat! Wink

@Linkat,
I might have been less critical had I known you better.

@Linkat,
My oldest posts are also from 2004. Re-reading them sometimes makes me cringe.

Just checked my first post here (16 pages of em in the "your posts" list )...

And I discovered that on Mon 18 Nov, 2002 12:34 am I created a thread called The Pleasure and Pain of Procrastination.

Things haven't improved much since then ( I still hold the Guinness World Records record for that honor ) ..... but what a pleasure to read this short thread!
Apart from a few notable exceptions, most of the posters (lovely people, all!) are no longer with us.
So good to hear their "voices" again! Smile

A couple of weeks back I was looking for something and noticed that a bunch of threads I started which have zero replies have over 250 views. This is cool, somebody is using the tags system to look up old stuff, either that or google is finding the old stuff. I am pleasantly surprised.

Can't particippate in this conversation very well as I can't access any posts from my days as Merry Andrew. The hamsters don't believe that Merry Andrew still exists.

I frequently look at my old threads. Did I say that? Yes, I did.

olga, I agree that views are a good indicator of interest, but not necessarily of good conversation. Why do I say this? Because the Beautiful Animals thread has over half a million views--and very little conversation. I admit that this is most likely the exception. And I'm being ornery. Not an uncommon occurrence.

@Roberta,
OK.
No problem, Roberta. Smile

High viewing ratings can be an indicator of many things, including interest, not just a good discussion.

How's that? Wink

@msolga,
Unornerified.

Thanks, olga.

Between my post and your post, I went back and looked at a couple of old threads. Things I forgot all about.

Thanks, Linkat, for bringing up the subject.

I've just been on a nostalgia trip - some of the old stuff makes me cringe too. But some of it is really funny, especially some of the banter from the Brit thread in the early days.
