Language fascists? *LOL*

If the example that started this thread is an example of the standards you are citing, I would argue it is due to poor education. Surely you aren't suggesting that improper use of language by those uneducated or poorly educated should be the standard? If that's the case then the example I gave of "you're" and "your" will ultimately result in "you're" being eliminated. It boggles the mind how many times I've seen "your" used incorrectly.
