You know licorice is bad for hypertension, if you have hypertension....or even if you don't it's still bad for it. Or perhaps good for it, as it can make it bigger?

It seems to have healing properties only if one has skin cancer.

When I was a child I sometimes enjoyed Black Jack gum--it was licorice flavored. I think it is still made.

I never knew there was such a thing as licorice ice cream. I've only found one person (grew up in New Mexico - not sure if that's where he had it).....I wonder why I've never seen it. The candy stores from years back offered the old original licorice, but I've never seen it as a flavor in ice cream. It sounds great. Deep Sigh

Anise or aniseed, which has a licorice flavor, is used in cooking, including some soup or stews.

Personally, there are many flavors I prefer to that of licorice.
