@chai2,
Well, there are all kinds of emails promoting e-cigarettes, so there must be a number of brands out there. Which one does Wally use and like.

Pro Smoke.
I don't want to post the link, but it's easy to find.

@chai2,
Thank you. Word of mouth really is the best advertising.

@chai2,
Is your friend still smoke free?

One of my good friends finally quit today, he's using the patch. Day one.

I called him when I got home from work to see how he was doing, he hung up on me. Cool

@jcboy,
Probably thought you were gloating. Kind of like "How's the hopey changey thing working out?".

e-cigs are still illegal here in Canada. I tried to get some through my favourite "it fell off a truck" guys, but no luck. I was hoping they'd work for Set. The gum is just more nicotine for him.

@ehBeth,
Strangely enough, they're illegal in Germany as well. Even importing from
different sources is illegal now. What's so unhealthy about e-cigarettes that
normal cigarettes take precedence over it?

@CalamityJane,
I speculate that they are considered addictive drug delivery systems, while tobacco is a natural substance, or otherwise protected product. I clearly remember a time when nicotine gum was only sold by prescription. Wow. $70 + for a doctors prescription and another fifty for the product, and the intent is to help people quit. This never struck me as well thought out.

My friend? Laughing

Wally is my online name for my husband. His real name is Kirk.

Yes sir, he's still using them, at a low level, and is doing fine!
He likes the coffee and the vanilla flavors.

I think I mentioned before, but I think a big reason this has worked is that he still get to do all the smoking actions and associated flavor and "smoke" (vapor).

ehbeth & cj, I don't know why they would be illegal. The brand he's using, ProSmoke is a glycerin gel that's got the nicotine and flavor in it. Not even fibers or other chemicals to take in.

weird.

@roger,
You're on the right track. Cigarettes don't claim to be good for you . E-cigs are trying to get into Canada as a treatment - which means they have to get past Health Canada - and the vapours aren't making the cut here.
