I know some of you remember Lightwizard and it's sad for me to have to announce that he is no longer with us. He died recently and I just became aware of it a little while ago. Rest in Peace my dear friend xxxx ♥
@Montana,
Ouch ... no wonder I haven't seen him on Facebook lately. Any idea what happened?
@Montana,
Yes, I remember him. He was the fellow who was interested in movies?
That's too bad!
RIP {{{Lightwizard}}}.
Thanks for letting us know, Montana!

@Butrflynet,
I have no idea as of yet what happened, just that his niece contacted one of our mutual friends and I was told through another mutual friend. I just heard the sad news myself.
@Reyn,
Yes, he loved his movies and art
<waves back at Reyn>
Rest in peace, George. I'll miss you. We'll miss you.
I'll miss you Lightwizard...
From his Facebook profile:
A great guy. Sad to see him go.
Thank you for posting that pic B. I wanted to post one, but didn't know how to get it here. I love that picture of him
yup he was a great guy and will be missed - R.I.P
Lightwizard really knew movies like no one else on A2K. He gave me advice when my older daughter started working professionally in the television and movie industry.
Lightwizard was a college student in Los Angeles in 1951. At that time he worked on the lighting crew for the filming of The Day The Earth Stood Still with Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal. This film is mentioned in every list of the top science fiction movies. Lightwizard was actually part of American movie history.
I already missed him during his absence from A2K. I feel as if one of my next door neighbors died suddenly.
@wandeljw,
Rest in peace George. You will be missed.
@Montana,
Thanks for letting us know. I'll miss him more for knowing he isn't going to pop up one of these days.
I will keep him on my FB along with Bob forever or as long as their FB accounts are left open. Those I have lost in time will live in my heart as long as I live...
I'm very sorry to hear this. LW was tremendously knowledgeable about films. But what I admired even more was his enthusiasm.
I'll miss him.
seems... every time i turn around... someone is dying.
My favorite movie geek whos top lists were always similar to mine..
I hope everything was peaceful..
He and I had a string of energetic discussions soon after I signed on, he seemed passionate and smart....he will be missed.
I'm very sorry to hear that.
RIP, George!
You will be missed.
That sucks. We disagreed on some of the best movies, and most everything else, yet still connected as friends. Dude was cool. Rest in peace, George.
