OH ****!!!

I owe George (Lightwizard) Williams a dinner. Last time I was in Southern Cal. he treated Sglass and me to a wonderful dinner at a wonderful out-of-the-way place in Long Beach. He drove all the way from Newport Beach, where he was living, just to meet us. Now I'll never be able to reciprocate.

Rest in peace, Lightwizard.

I recall our discussion of Piccaso's Blue Period. Yes, George W. this is indeed a tragedy.

@Region Philbis,
I remember him very, very fondly from Abuzz. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Nominations for the Tinfoil Hat Brigade. Just a funny, sweet, creative man. Rubbed elbows with many greats, and he knew movies like nobody's business. A true expert.

I hope where he is, there is Technicolor, and there are chocolate martinis.

@Montana,
What sad news.
Thank you for letting us know, Montana.

Not being a FaceBook person, like quite a number of you, I've seen little of LightWizard for years now.
But I remember him & his contributions to A2K with fondness & great respect.

I've been checking out LightWizard's threads just now.
Was he prolific, or what? Smile
Furthermore they were always a great read.:

A sad day.

Lightwizard was a guy who really believed in the "share answers" aspect
of this forum. He was a man who knew his stuff and was eager to share
his considerable knowledge and experience.

Requiescat.

Given that LW hadn't posted in a long time, I suspected as much, but I still hoped it was only a hiatus for him. He was indeed extremely knowledgeable about the movies and the movie business, and always generous with that knowledge. He was truly one of the good ones, and I will miss him.

You're welcome to all who thanked me for posting this sad news. I totally wish that it was great news I was passing along since I'm not around much anymore, but things don't always float that way. No one knew George was ill as he kept it completely hush hush.
Some time ago he cut down on his posting here, but it wasn't because he was ill, but more the same reasons I pulled away.
George was active on FB where I saw him almost daily until 2 months ago where he stopped posting completely. I had been thinking of him often lately because I hadn't seen him for a while and I was shocked to hear the news of his passing.
He will be missed by many ♥

I was looking through his photo albums on Facebook. He's got photos of his family, the courtyard garden he was so proud of and many of his pieces of art.

If you're on Facebook, be sure to browse through them.

If it is not inappropriate to do so, I can post some of them here for those not on Facebook to see.
