@ehBeth,
I was just going to post. My engine is in the shop and the truck should be ready on Friday. I spoke to the manager at Jiffy Lube after he sent his mechanic to take a look at the truck last Friday, all he had to say was he hadn’t talk to the mechanic yet blah blah blah,

My attorney friend David sent his letter this morning. They should have it tomorrow or thursday at the latest. I'll stop by Jiffy Lube and pay them a visit when I pick up the truck on Friday. When I pick up the truck I'm going to have to pay over 3800.oo bucks, for the second time. My friend David believes they will reimburse me when this is all over with.

I'm hoping!

@InfraBlue,
That is very true! A couple years ago when my car was new I took it to the dealer after the 3000 miles, I told them the clutch was slipping. Well when it hit 6000 miles the clutch went out and I was told it was drivers error and it would cost me 2800.00. BS a new clutch doesn’t go in 6000 miles. I made one phone call to Nissan consumer affairs, the next day the dealer called me and said my car would be ready in two days.

Well my truck is back home parked in the front of the house with another re-built engine.

Didn’t have time to stop by Jiffy Lube today, had to pick up Antonio from school and then take one of his little friends home where they had to play for an hour, then got him some din din. I talked to my attorney friend David today, he said in the letter he sent he gave them ten days to respond. I still plan on stopping by tomorrow anyway.

I think it has pretty rims, that's kind of what sold me on it Wink

I never know whether you're being sweet and innocent, or dark and pervy. Maybe it's just me, I'm a real degenerate bastard unable to see the virtue in anything.

@izzythepush,
He only bought that truck so he can take the dogs to the dog beach. I say get rid of it, he never drives it anymore.

@JTT,
I believe they were banned from the dog beach as well as the dog park. Those dogs are spoiled rotten!

@MMarciano,
I bet those things are fun to drive though. I've got a very sensible high mileage vauxhall. It's not what you'd call fun.

I no longer go to Jiffy Lube. On one occasion Jiffy Lube gave me their usual statemement of work indicating that they topped off all fluids, but when I checked, other than oil, they hadn't touched them. When I called the place, the manager said, "If my guys said that they did it, then they did it." I called the headquarters to complain, and spoke to a silent and sullen man who took down my facts without comment. I never heard anything back. I think that they are a real low class outfit with good advertising.

His Jiffy Lube visit didn’t go over too well today. They pretty much told him they were not taking responsibility and would not be reimbursing him for the cost. If I know him he will be spending another four grand just to get even with them.

DUH....delay an answer for as long as possible and then deny responsibility is their standard response, anything else would have been unusual.

@roger,
That's true! I already left message for my friend David to let him know what they said to me today. If I have to take them to claims court I will and I’ve already talked to the mechanic from the garage that states they were responsible and he’s willing to put that in writing for me. This is the same garage that installed the first engine for me.

@hawkeye10,
Oh they still have it, they even told me the mechanic from Jiffy Lube who looked at the truck couldn't see where any oil had leaked out.

I'm sure they are hoping I'll just let it go and forget about it but that's not going to happen.

@jcboy,
saving the engine for evidence is silliness.

although you might ask your mechanic if he is willing to go to court with you.

small claims court will be fast and furious, but with an independent reputable mechanic testifying, you will slam dunk him...

I bet you are wrong here.....at min I bet the lawyer should give notice that the engine will be destroyed, and give JiffyLube a certain number of days to have a mechanic of their choosing look at it. I doubt who ever came out to look at it before is a real mechanic. At this point JiffyLube should not be provided with an excuse not to pay.

As always, seek legal advise from a legal professional.
