@reasoning logic,
I'm up for the banquet part. What about the other 48 days. What about the menu? Where did that come from?

@reasoning logic,
It is simply not done in respectable company to bring mothers into intellectual debates.

This is your mother we are talking about.

No it's not. He was referencing money being the root of all evil.

You've enjoyed the prayers and the pints, now enjoy some nazis.

I should say that Im here mostly for the show(the food is provided courtesy of other threads). However, All I see on most of these religion threads are displays of sanctimony by the religious, that and a lot of strange unquestioning acceptance of conflicting and lots of incorrect information presented within a dubious and multi- authored source book .

Good you gave your answer, now I will explain why I BELIEVE you guys and girls come here top do this...

You come here, first, Because your not really believing in a lack of belief of a non-existent God...You are here because you have a religion against a God...Or are saying if God is real, I do not want to follow him based on all the scriptures you have read about (him)...Second, you come here, because in your religion that so many of you embrace but deny, you use this forum, (and ones like it) because that is where you get your spirituality from....Instead of a church, monastery, Sanctuary, Chapel, Mosque, etc...You come here, and you feed off of one another, just like religious do...

But yet, when confronted with these points, most quickly resort back to insults...rather than the turn the other cheek, like faithful religious do....

Nor do most atheists care to take the time to explain what it is religious are to "buy into" as an atheistic society, when we are supposedly very gullible and are brainwashed in dogmatic cults.....

ACTUALLY, Im fascinated as to how religious people buy into all the textual information they profess to "believe in". Im simply fascinated at how you qickly dispense with your powers of reasoning and your previos learning. Simply fascinated.

Really? Cause I am fascinated how some atheists claim to live off of math and probabilities, and science, but do not understand that when they study quantum's (they get into things so ridiculous such as the string theory) and "think" that just because the problem is worked out, means that they are right, and there are nine dimensions of space, with one pulling all the gravity, so ours isn't so bad...

As if that **** could ever be validated...So many people out there accept ridiculous ideas like this, but then frown, when confronted with a man named Jesus????

I am not sure about where you come from but before the offering plate gets passed around We pray that God's hand will be involved and that he will remove all burdens from the people that give and some people will give all that they have and follow Jesus.

They have it wrong...God does not need our money to fund his missions...I am gonna write a letter to the Pope, even though I know he will reject it...those fathers who speak well of the Prophets are false, if they speak bad, they are true ones...

My hands are tied....

That seems to be a logical response. If the time and money that was spent on all of the churches was instead spent on the poor how much better would our society be? Our society is so messed up it would not take long before you seen some changes.

Again if we spent the same amount of time with the poor and those who are heavily burdened as what is spent on unnecessary things, how much better would our society be?

@reasoning logic,
Much better indeed...

And you would still have people getting together in buildings who speak/talk about the words of God...

And you would not have people who believe giving one hr a week and throwing a 20 in a basket is being Christian...

People have contorted Gods words, and will continue to do so....But the church will never fall...The world will end before that point is reached....

But I do believe that they didn't get 100% of the message wrong...

I believe that Siddhartha Gautama, Abraham, Mohammed, and Jesus were all on to something very true, and very real...

And despite whether agree with them or not, they are men that existed...All pointing to the same truth...

To me, Jesus is God in the flesh, but he still points to the same truth as the other men do...There is a Heavenly Father, who is God....

Wait...I have a question to ask to any person who accepts the theory of evolution...

These questions are a bit off topic, but I am interested in the answers...

This came to me from watching a t.v. show, just now...

If we evolved from hominids, and some people think we are aliens in the future...Or will be on another planet, and look like aliens do, due to the changes of the planet we are on, and our color may change, lose our hair, bigger eyes etc...

What is the purpose of us being born with hair, and losing it? (most men, and some women, included)

let me break it down...We were hominids, with a lot of hair...we will look like aliens do in the future...almost no hair...So why in this junction of mans existence are we born with hair, only to lose it in one life existence, If things are not orchestrated and ordained by a higher power??

Are people going to tell me, we evolve that slowly? Are we at the junction of man that for close to 2500 years men have been born with hair only to lose it? (Elijah being called old baldy) If that is the case, are men who don't lose their hair, less evolved? and men who lose it faster are more fit for survival?? If that is also the case, why is it human nature, to try to prolong it, by getting hair transplants? or things like plastic surgery??

If not a higher power compelling us to do things contradictory to the theory of evolution??

All answers appreciated....

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
Well transplants are not done to keep thy head warm, it's vanity but that's okay as well.

It is a good question as to why you are born with something only to lose it later in life, same with sex drive Smile Just kidding.

There is a saying that "you" look more distinguished, perhaps to show widsom? A form of trust?

These days, it's "in" to be bald, kind of has that "bad boy" image which whilst every woman will contest they don't like bad boys, deep inside they do, I believe.

But, that's all I can come up with - to show wisdom therefore to trust words.

Still have to be pretty dam big breasts to keep your ears warm, no?? Mr. Green 2 Cents

I think I will just get my hair cut like Izzy said....

Yes, I do agree it is vanity....

Still interested in an evolutionist explaining if people who lose their hair, are evolving, apposed to evolving slower, when human nature is to prolong losing their hair...
