@JTT,

That might be because they have a colonial history. Or, they have acted superior where they went.
Or, like so many other people, they act clannish too.

U know, J, that when u write that u pretend, u fake, that u KNOW
what he really believes
and u allege that he is inconsistent therewith.
That is very presumptuous
and (unless u r a mindreader) it is false.

Watching an American lout in a video or listening to tales about annoying American tourists just doesn't trigger a genetic response of embarrassment in me.

Perhaps I would not have survived for long on the Serengeti Plains of a few million years ago.

If I were on the Korean bus, I like to think I would have confronted the lout directly, or, at least as you suggest, attempted to mollify the Korean passengers by apologizing on behalf of my countrymen.

The lout would likely embarrass any Americans on the bus, but all Americans weren't riding the bus.

Being on that bus was an entirely different social situation than watching the video in my study. The latter didn't leave me feeling embarrassed about Americans or compelled to apologize to the Korean people.

Gotcha. I wouldn't be quite so embarrassed if it had happened in France or Bolivia or somewhere, but I've been over here since 1996, and I've survived wave after wave of nationwide anti-American sentiment that usually gets started over the behavior of just a couple of dumbasses with shitty attitudes, acting as if Korea was their personal playground. Then we all have to take **** over it until it dies down.

@OmSigDAVID,
You are a doofus, Dave. Foofie has expressed many times exactly what he believes. He's is well in the running with you, h20man and gunga, as the most ignorant American on this website.

And of course, that only happens in Korea, right?

I don't imagine that NoGunRi and all the other war crimes the US has committed in Korea has helped all that much either.

Of WHAT do u allege that he is "ignorant"????
I wonder if it is of the foolishness that u propagate??

EVERYONE
is ignorant. In this universe, there are many trillions of facts
of which no one in this forum is informed. We are all ignorant.
I suspect that JTT does not know that he is ignorant.

(That is a play on words: JTT is ignorant of the fact that he is ignorant.)

Let us be clear on one point:
the incident set forth in the opening paragraf
indicates that the offender believed that he
had been called a "niga" which (in error) he thought was a "nigger".

THEREFORE, he was representing blacks in his objections,
not Americans.

He was not defending America from any anti-American slurs.

Accordingly, as an American,
I refuse to accept any vicarious responsibility for his abuses.
He was NOT representing ME.

Presumably, he 'd have acted the same way
if he had resided anywhere else.

I know exactly what you mean, Dave. Like those liberals who sought to give Negroes their freedom, or those liberals who deviated from the norm, demanding that the US government stop its genocide of Native Americans.

Truly unAmerican ideals.

You just can't beat those stick to the norm conservatives who wanted to uphold that great document that provided for enslaving Blacks, that scorned Native Americans, making the genocide all that much easier. Theirs was/is truly that of the American way, wasn't/isn't it?

If genocide had happened, then there 'd be NO Indians.

Yes.

The Indians were not exterminated.

@OmSigDAVID,
Please please please, tell me that you are not this dumb, Dave. What's your long suit again, "logic" or the ignorance you regularly display for your very own language?

I give you two sources, M-W and AHD:

=================
M-W

systematic

1 : relating to or consisting of a system

2 : presented or formulated as a coherent body of ideas or principles <systematic thought>

3 a : methodical in procedure or plan <a systematic approach> <a systematic scholar>
b : marked by thoroughness and regularity <systematic efforts>

4 : of, relating to, or concerned with classification; specifically : taxonomic

==================

AHD:

systematic

1. Of, characterized by, based on, or constituting a system.
2. Carried on using step-by-step procedures.
3. Purposefully regular; methodical. See Synonyms at orderly.
4. Of or relating to classification or taxonomy.

We did not exterminate the Indians,
neither systematicly nor any other way.
The Indians remain unexterminated. ASK them, if in doubt on that point.

You're so dumb, Dave, that you can't even answer a pointed question.

Case closed.

1. Your characterizations have never had any merit nor credibility.

2. This is not your thread. U have no right to "close" anything.
